Hello!

I would like to know whether DIA is able to create sankey diagrams.

With best regards,

Re: cant set default text color

2011-09-23 Thread Michael Ross
Default is black. You can't double click on the T in the functions palette
to set a color as default, but all you have to do is pick on the
foreground/background blocks below the shape sheets display to change it.

I guess if you never use black text, and start a lot of new Diagrams this is
annoying.

Don't know what sankeys are, but Dia allows you to create your own custom
sheets of shapes. (In the politest way possible) RTFM for that.

Hi Manuel Rink,

It's the first time I hear about sankey diagrams. I guess they're
explained on Wikipedia:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sankey_diagram

Technically, Dia's beziergon shapes (plus some labels) could be used to
create sankey diagrams.
But I'm not aware of any logic to create these diagrams automatically
(yet).
Do you have a defined input format or a workflow how you would create
these diagrams?
Could you give a concrete example how the diagram you're looking for
should look like?

[0.97.1/Win] Object properties windows opened outside the Dia workspace

2011-09-23 Thread Andrey Repin
Greetings, All!

I'm using a pair of 1680x1050 displays with my "misc" primary desktop being on
the left side, and the "work" secondary on the right.
While I place Dia on the secondary desktop, tools "Default" property windows
are opened on the primary desktop.
This behavior does not change with Dia window style (Normal/Maximized).
I'm using --integrated layout.

Thanks, that worked even better than I could've imagined. :)

Hm. One question: Why two ellipses?
I've achieved the same results in my own shape by simple

I'm running OS X 10.6.8 on an Intel Core Duo 1.83 GHz (White Macbook) (it's

Sorry for this. This issue has been reported before.

Until now, there's no updated DMG ready.
You should be able to build Dia using Porticus or MacPorts, though.

Maybe the perfect circle was originally created using the shape export
plugin.

It's not very clever and tends to duplicate things.

It is possible to change shape type without deleting and recreating it?

2011-09-23 Thread Andrey Repin
Greetings, All!

I understand that what I'm looking for isn't common in general, but i'm
stumbled with this task in my daily work with Dia.
I place generic shapes without knowing beforehand, which type I need them to
be. But I do know the layout and connections beforehand.
I could do it by hands inside the Dia document source (XML, after all, is very
flexible format...), but I'd like to have a more straightforward solution.

Something like this might be possible with the help of a Python plugin.
But "the devil is in the details".
Could you provide two "before and after" diagrams?

Tricky questions might be:

* How do you select the placeholder shapes?
* How do you select the replacement shapes?
* Do the connectors match (somehow)?

Sorry for this. Is it just the initial state that is a problem? (I.e.
are you able to arrange the windows

the way you like manually?)
