Yes please!

In general, the New Year is a good time to take a look at that list
of people with access rights in various projects and trim them.
If you're on the "receiving end" and get dropped from an access list,
please don't take it personally: it's not meant as a slight and it's
not permanent, it can always be reversed if you become active again
in the project.

Discussion on what to do with SvtAv1DecApp

2024-12-31 Thread yoong jin
with the retirement of `SvtAv1DecApp` , and its libraries in the version bump
of `svt-av1` from `2.1.0` to `2.3.0` , we should migrate applications from it.
impact checks from running [copr
builds](https://copr.fedorainfracloud.org/coprs/solomoncyj/svt/build/8436582/)
from `fedrq wrsrc svt-av1 -F source show that no applications rely on the
outdated libary. anyone wnating to to decode videos using the `av1` codec
should use [da1vd](https://code.videolan.org/videolan/dav1d/) which has been
used as the de facto standard for some time as a av1 software decoder

Hi Otto,
Yes I have, i'd love to maintain the packages however currently I'm unable to
do so because I'm not a packager so that's why i'm asking if maybe someone
could take ownership, it would be a loss if this packages are not considered
for f42

Check `--short-circuit` option or mock.

Resuming failed 'fedpkg scratch-build'

2024-12-31 Thread Mattia Verga via devel
Is there any way to resume a failed 'fedpkg scratch-build' (or mock
build) from a point other than restarting all?

I ask because I'd like to be able to resume a task which failed due to
missing or not found files defined in %files directive. When building
Libreoffice it tooks 3 hours to build and another 3 hours to run
tests... then perhaps it fail during %files and it might requires some
attempts to get the file list correct.
