I have gone to the Oracle site & installed jmf software. Now for some reason I still can't get the video to embed in the presentation... I added a sample video from the library that comes with Windows 7 32bit, so I know it can be done but, a video embedded from YouTube Is it possible & how is it done? So many crashes are cured by resetting the AOO profile. See our support forum to proceed: https://forum.openoffice.org Feel free to register and post all your questions there. Other users can advice you to fix this kind of problem. - Mail original - De: "Othori Sama" À: dev@openoffice.apache.org Envoyé: Mercredi 29 Octobre 2014 22:27:46 Objet: PLEASE! CORRECT THE BUG!!! Since the version 4.1 of Open office, when I made a file with Impress, using many photos, I can'T save it, I can't save it in .pdf and worst, I even have files that just don't apprear at all after I tried to save it. I use that for my work and it's really annoying to began anew each time the window closes, saying I have to restore my session and begin again. Seriously, it is a known bug since I saw many people complaning about it everywhere, but with no real solutions available and working . So DO SOMETHING!! PLEASE! Pretty please with a cherry on top? Re: EMBEDDING YOUTUBE INTO IMPRESS
That said maybe is a good conversation to have. JMF was a broken solution from is inception by having a deprecated product plugged into AOO for political reasons because Sun needed to find a Java solution. Novell replace this in Go-oo with gstreamer, however other engines like libvlc or maybe more licence compatible solutiosn can work at the moment. Not to mention JMF license might be incompatible atm. Probably a feature to consider for 5.0. How do you make multi-line commit messages? Yes. You can use the editor if you omit the --message="..." option, or use that option and press Enter before closing the quotation: git commit --amend --message="This is a commit message[press Enter here] [Press Enter here] This is the third line. [Press Enter here] This is the fourth line." [< close the message quotation and press Enter] I think, I have understand it now. Test all this with a dummy testing repository: cd ~/ git init testrepo cd testrepo touch test.txt git add test.txt and then try commiting and editing the commit message, then look at the log with git log. That is a very useful tip and helps me a lot. I would have never thought of using such dummy testing repository. It is worth to collect all this tips for beginners in the Wiki, but I don't know, when I will have time to write it. Because volunteers are much more likely to be involved if they can have an idea of what they would be working on, and because we can't keep volunteers waiting too much. If you take care of documenting the process in the wiki in https://wiki.openoffice.org/wiki/Pootle_User_Guide (or a sibling page) this time, we may be able to delegate it the next time the need arises, and then maybe find someone who will progressively import the SDF files to Pootle: keeping only the SDF is really bad since one can't see progress or submit a quick fix, and if everything is on Pootle we lower the entry barrier. The natural way would have been to submit an issue task to integrate it. Even though I still think that the natural way would be to have it already available (and even more so if this is something that we can't readily do upon request), here you are with the issue: https://issues.apache.org/ooo/show_bug.cgi?id=125810 Documenting the current process is still a to-do on my long list Could at least you take screenshots while you import Sinhala? Then maybe someone else can fill in the gaps, but we really need a starting point if we want to find volunteers who can help with this. it's too bad that we won't make progress with the genlang project. I believe it is dead and nobody really knows enough details to continue The genLang initiative is not that relevant for this. You need an initial import into PO files anyway, with or without genLang. Re: Apache Extras PoC
On 29/10/2014 Roberto Galoppini wrote: Here we go, the new look&feel based on some of your earlier feedback: http://sourceforge.net/directory/apache_extras This is much improved, thanks Roberto! The landing page is now much cleaner. Some of the comments on the inner pages still apply, but maybe if it would be possible to remove the "Code" tab from the individual projects? Or, on the contrary, using the "Code" function instead of the "File" function for the file repository? (Here we should really check what other projects do; for OpenOffice, Extras is just a file repository). It seems that a look and feel like http://sourceforge.net/mirror/oooextras/code/HEAD/tree/trunk/ could be better for our case than something like http://sourceforge.net/projects/oooextras.mirror/files/ (which assumes, more or less, that those "files" are actually releases; but they aren't and this has a number of unintended consequences). English Dictionaries updated - 1-NOV-2014
Hello! Just to inform everyone that I have updated the dictionaries: http://extensions.openoffice.org/en/project/english-dictionaries-apache-openoffice The only change was in en_GB which now has 641 new words. As usual, on 1-DEC-2014 there will be another update (monthly update). I am in contact with Kevin Atkinson (US and CA). Anyone knows how to contact the other two countries' dictionary guys? I would like to update all instead of just the usual GB, US and CA. Thanks! Kind regards, >Marco A.G.Pinto -- --
