Re: Poster with all ASF project logos?

2017-11-29 Thread Daisy Trader
I am sorry if I interpreted your evening, but for the last 3 years this
hacker has made my life a living hell not to mention the Identity theft I
had to deal with. I just don't understand how no one knows how or what to
do to stop this. I will catch whoever it is and make sure they can never
use a computer again. For now I am grabbing at any hints I get out of
hidden files the fact that I have never used foxfire and is seems that's
what I'm running makes me think I'm linked to a computer. If you know
anything I can do it would be very much appreciated.
Thank you

I guess it is unclear exactly what you are asking.

Note that due to the ASF's broad reach, a sizeable part of the world's
software does use modules provided by ASF projects.

It doesn't mean the ASF is responsible for what people do with our
stuff - we just provide tools with no restrictions on how they are
used, and often have no relationship with the people who use our
software, except that they downloaded it from us, directly or not.

I don't think your issue has anything to do with the ASF specifically,
if you believe someone is hacking your phone you might need to hire a
specialist to get help.

This mailing list is meant to discuss ASF community development
topics, we won't be able to help more here.

เรื่อง: Doing open source while maintaining your sanity

Hi,

Last week at FOSS Backstage one of the topics Sharan discussed in her talk was
IIRC the responsibility that comes with running an and participating in an open
source project. One of the topics related to keeping an eye on your own well
being as well as on your peers.

At Apache we have a couple resources that warn against things like
volunteeritis, over committing and the like. I'm not sure how visible these
are, also I'm not sure if Apache projects in general are aware of the topic of
mental health.

IANAL, but AFAIK at least in Germany, mental health legally is treated the same
way as physical health when it comes to employer liability (someone with better
"legal English" skills, please correct my wording). While we are not an
employer, would it make sense to offer some material on the topic to community
members? I would guess that we wouldn't need to produce any new content, but
maybe just link to and endorse existing stuff we already have? (Maybe we
already do that, it's been a while since I was a new committer reading through
the getting started docs, so anyone who is new - feedback welcome.)

Isabel

1: ASF is a group of developers. Sometimes, people use their offerings
for things that they don't approve of. But, due to the license, there is
nothing ASF can do about the situation.
In the real world, this is a fairly common scenario.

2: If your electronic devices really have been hacked then:
* Go to your local construction supply store, and buy a 20 kg hammer,
construction gloves, and construction goggles.
* When you get home, put the gloves and goggles on.
* Get your electronic devices;
* Pick up that hammer, and proceed to smash each and every device into
fragments no more than one square centimeter in size;

If you absolutely have to have a cell phone, go buy a Silent Circle
Black Phone. (you want the model that comes sans camera.);
If you absolutely have to have a computer, buy a desktop that ships with
BSD as the only  choice of OS _and_ uses AMD chips for both the CPU and GPU;
