problems with 4.16.1 Debian/Ubuntu packages on download.cloudstack.org

2022-03-08 Thread Darren Cole
Packages for Focal (20.04) at download.cloudstack.org packages aren't all set
yet.
Did the package build not finish completely?
Or do I just need to wait a little longer for updates to finish propagating?

My automatic updates for my home servers broke on my cloudstack management
server of my tiny cluster.

4.16.1 is listed for cloudstack-common and most other packages, but not for
cloudstack-management (looked in both binary-all and binary-amd64)
4.16.1 cloudstack-management that is in the package pool is too small, and
doesn't contain the systemvm:
http://download.cloudstack.org/ubuntu/dists/focal/4.16/pool/cloudstack-management_4.16.1.0~focal_all.deb
I didn't test it but looking that Bionic packages appear to be in the same
state.

My cluster is a tiny two or three node Cloudstack cluster I run at home.
Either a two amd64 nodes, or a two amd64 nodes and am arm64 management node
(Raspberry Pi 4).

For now I manually switched to the ShapeBlue packages
(https://www.shapeblue.com/packages/)

Hi Darren,

Have you checked these packages

2022-03-08 Thread Nux

Hi Wido, Gabriel.
Can you guys check the DEB packages? Seems like at least
cloudstack-management is corrupted.

ar x ../cloudstack-management_4.16.1.0~focal_all.deb
ar: ../cloudstack-management_4.16.1.0~focal_all.deb is not a valid
archive

Thanks

Maybe something happened when uploading the package, or during the build.
I will rebuild them and get back soon with them.

Gabriel.

Re: Blue Orangutan Build Things

2022-03-08 Thread Rohit Yadav
Hi Sina,

The blueorangutan bot is a python script that is run every minute by a cronjob
that reads the notification list and responds to only specific repo
(apache/cloudstack) and processes the command by reading the comment to check
for specific keywords (few actions like kicking tests are restricted to a list
of specific github user ids). Have a look at python API for github (or even
bash/curl might work) with a Github auth token for a bot account that can read
notifications and post comments.

Some projects use more advanced bots/integrations like prow
https://github.com/kubernetes/test-infra/tree/master/prow that can be used for
even more automation (like k8s project does).

Regards.

[RESULT][VOTE] CentOS 7 KVM binaries

2022-03-08 Thread Daniel Salvador
Hi all,

Thank you all for the engagement and participation.

The vote for CentOS 7 KVM binaries *passes* with
5 PMC + 1 non-PMC votes.

+1 (PMC / binding)
persons (Gabriel, Nicolas, Rohit, Sven, Wei)

+1 (non binding)
1 person (Slavka)

-1

I'll open a PR on CloudStack Documentation repository[¹] adding a
RECOMMENDATION section on CloudStack's Installation Guide > Host KVM
Installation[²] guiding users to install the qemu-kvm-ev binaries, if
they are using CentOS 7. The packages that we will guide users to
install will be the latest provided by the official CentOS site[³]
(the current latest version is '2.12.0-44.1.el7_8.1.x86_64').

*Note:* PRs addressing KVM changes still have to look at the stock
qemu-kvm, as ACS will keep support of it.

Best regards,
Daniel Salvador
