I'm not sure why this was removed from public. We haven't tested the feature
set since the below PR was merged.

Nathan,

Thoughts on this?

Hi Ozhan,

The global setting was removed in following PR, however you can get the
feature/ability via the API:

Hi;
I plan to test "Ability to disable primary storage to secondary storage
backups for snapshots" feature on 4.11 rc1 release. For this test i think i
need to update "snapshot.backup.rightafter" parameter from global settings
but i could not find the parameter on global configuration there.

Is this normal?

I found and fixed an issue in cloudstack-agent logrotate.

https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/CLOUDSTACK-10255
https://github.com/apache/cloudstack/pull/2429

IMHO it's feasible to include it in RC2.
As only the maven build is impacted by the change,
I see little risk.

testing and a vote:

Git Branch and Commit SH:
https://gitbox.apache.org/repos/asf?p=cloudstack.git;a=shortlog;h=refs/heads/4.11.0.0-RC20180126T1313

The vote will be open till end of next week, 2nd Feb 2018.

For sanity in tallying the vote, can PMC members please be sure to indicate
"(binding)" with their vote?

[ ] -1 disapprove (and reason why)

Additional information:

For users' convenience, I've built packages from

http://cloudstack.apt-get.eu/testing/4.11-rc2
(the packages are being built and will be available shortly)

The release notes are still work-in-progress, but the systemvmtemplate
upgrade section has been updated. You may refer the following for
systemvmtemplate upgrade testing:

Re: [VOTE] Apache Cloudstack 4.11.0.0 LTS [RC2]

2018-01-26 Thread Boris Stoyanov
Hi all,

I’ve done upgrade testing on the following platform matrix:

OS and Hypervisor \ ACS Version 4.5 → 4.11 4.6 → 4.11 4.9 → 4.11
M: CentOS6 H: CentOS 6 ✔
M: CentOS6 H: XS65sp1 ✔
M: CentOS6 H: VMware 5.5u3 ✔
M: CentOS7 H: CentOS 7 ✔
M: CentOS7 H: XS7 ✔
M: CentOS7 H: VMware 5.5u3 ✔
M: CentOS7 H: VMware 6.5✔

All the upgrades were successful as well as VR/SSVM upgrade.

I’m +1 on RC2, didn’t had any issues with it.

Enhance package.sh script

2018-01-26 Thread Khosrow Moossavi
Hi community

I fixed and enhanced package.sh script in PR #2433 [1]. It's based on 4.11
branch
and since it's only touches packaging script, it should be safe to be
included in
4.11.0.0 and/or 4.11.1.0.

The idea was to be able to "brand" the final package name to distinguish
the custom
built packages from community build ones just by looking at the file name.

If POM version contains branding string (x.y.z.a-NAME[-SNAPSHOT]) it will
generate
packages like: cloudstack-package-x.y.z.a-NAME.NUMBER.el7.centos.x86_64

Afaik yes, 4.11 has been cut and master has been updated to 4.12-SNAPSHOT

So master is open again after enough LGTM.
