Re: [VOTE] Apache Cloudstack 4.9.0 RC2

2016-07-26 Thread Rohit Yadav
+1 (binding)

I built the 4.9.0-rc2 packages
(http://packages.shapeblue.com/cloudstack/custom/490rc2/) and tested:

- Upgraded an existing KVM (basic zone/shared network) deployment from a
4.7.1.1 environment

- Fresh adv zone and adv networking

- VR firewall, pf, acls, egress/ingress rules and iptables rules/chains

- Deployed a guest VM with/without data disks, tested normal VM lifecycles,
disk/volume lifecycles and template life cycles

- Performed VM migration with/without storage

Regards.

Subject: [VOTE] Apache Cloudstack 4.9.0 RC2

Hi All,

I've created a 4.9.0 release, with the following artifacts up for a vote:

Git Branch and Commit SH:
*
Commit: 227ff3884dd0b9c2804f20a2cc53964b01256ad9

I will continue working on the Release Notes and will release them when the
RC is accepted so I don't have to redo them too many times.

Source release (checksums and signatures are available at the same
location):
https://dist.apache.org/repos/dist/dev/cloudstack/4.9.0/

PGP release keys (signed using CB818F64):
https://dist.apache.org/repos/dist/release/cloudstack/KEYS

Vote will be open for 72 hours.

For sanity in tallying the vote, can PMC members please be sure to indicate
"(binding)" with their vote?

[ ] +1 approve
[ ] +0 no opinion
[ ] -1 disapprove (and reason why)

Thanks,

Re: Working Site-to-Site VPN gets disconnected and VPC seems to forgets ACL’s

2016-07-26 Thread Jonas Schlichtenbrede
Hi Simon,

thanks for your reply.Currently we don't use private gateways - this
deployment never made it that far ;-)

It's always a very simple setup because we are testing several scenarios
(especially regarding the network setup) to find a solution for this issue.

@ Jayapal

You'll find the output of ipsec status via the following Google Drive
folder including some new logs:

   -

https://drive.google.com/folderview?id=0BzK2SWUHninKaGpSS0twQlR0NUE&usp=sharing

For a new try the connection was established at 25.07.2016 arround 16:38:00
and broke at 25.07.2016 arround 19:54:00. Logs from the VR are 2 hours
behind.

We'll so far we do not have any other ideas how to get this issue isolated.
Maybe it's related to the hardware of the XenServer hosts: Intel i350
Gigabit Network NICs are used. However we use these cards at working setup
too.

Is it possible to take a look at the setup together?

Re: [VOTE] Apache Cloudstack 4.9.0 RC2

2016-07-26 Thread Rohit Yadav
Hi Wido,

I also hit this issue but only when building CentOS7 packages today, I fixed it
by adding/declaring the juniper repository explicitly in the root pom.xml:

https://github.com/shapeblue/cloudstack/commit/0ede472334114341e68eea5e3da37599b71f52e4#diff-600376dffeb79835ede4a0b285078036R47

I've already shared a PR to fix the recurring juniper-repo issue and it also
improves testing using marvin and integration-tests packages:

https://github.com/apache/cloudstack/pull/1612

VMware Primary Storage Question

2016-07-26 Thread Tutkowski, Mike
Hi,

Does anyone know why you have to explicitly note the IP address of vCenter
Server and the datacenter when adding cluster-wide primary storage based on
VMFS?

http://imgur.com/a/BVJuq

It seems like we already provided this info when we added the datacenter to the
zone that your VMware cluster is in, so I would have expected these fields to
default to those settings.

By the way, the image was taken from the second RC for 4.9.

Thoughts?

Thanks,

Mike

Mike, your system has a old jna version can you upgrade your 1.7 jdk and jna
and/or try building with mvn -Djna.nosys=true?

+1 (binding)

I ran the following automated tests (details below):

TestVolumes.py (with and without its XenServer resigning option)
TestSnapshots.py
TestVMSnapshots.py
TestAddRemoveHosts.py

I built a cloud from scratch (using a script) with this RC. I ran the automated
tests that I listed above on it. I also performed a bunch of manual testing
with XenServer, VMware, and KVM.

I did not observe any failures.
