[ACS44]release 4.4.3

2015-01-02 Thread Daan Hoogland
H,

As I sugested before christmas I will put some effort into a 4.4.3
release. I didn't have time for that over the holidays due to a
painfull issue in our internal instance where the clustered
environment wouldn't spin up instances correctly. Sorry for giving
anyone false hope.

I will give releasing some attention this weekend. For this please
have a look at the release dashboard [1] and give me as much clues as
possible on it's readiness for release. I will probably make a first
release candidate by the end of the weekend if nothing big comes up.

Please point me to any issues that might be fixed by cherry picking
and to fix branches that I might merge.

Re: [VOTE] Release Apache CloudStack CloudMonkey 5.3.1

2015-01-02 Thread Rohit Yadav
Hi,

Since a lot of people in the community are returning from holidays, please
consider testing and voting for 5.3.1.

As per our bylaws we will need at least 3 +1 PMC votes and no veteos, negative
vote to pass this, so the PMC is requested to participate as well (so far we’ve
one from Daan). Thanks.

One question though, is there a known issue with the color coding? it
seems to change halfway through words in the output and not be
consistent in the help/error messages. Not a blocker and I may need to

The following script to deploy system vm's. After some time they started
working! Now when i try to deploy and vm
i am getting the following error message.
"com.cloud.exception.AgentUnavailableException: Resource [Host:1] is
unreachable: Host 1: Unable to start instance due to Template 3 has not
been completely downloaded to zone 1"

I did reregister the latest system vm template and i was able to
successfully download it. But there are two inbuilt templates where it says
in the status that the connection was time out. And one of these in built
template is an in built old system vm template. How can i solve this issue
now there is a system vm running properly in the environment and i have the
latest template registered but it seems so cloudstack searches for those
two templates which it couldn't download. Because of this i still can't
create a virtual machine.

Thank you.

What's the status of template are you trying to create a VM from? Please share
either DB output or UI screenshot.

Re: [VOTE] Release Apache CloudStack CloudMonkey 5.3.1

Reading from http://cloudstack.apache.org/bylaws.html

3.2.1. Lazy Consensus - Lazy consensus requires 3 binding +1 votes and no
binding -1 votes.

3.3.1. Vetoes are only possible in a lazy consensus vote.

Assuming this thread may not receive a lot of attention (since the window has
passed as we only have one +1 binding vote from Daan), I’m simply requesting
the PMC to consider testing and voting for doing 5.3.1 release using the least
applicable consensus option (lazy consensus, while the document may need
corrections but it says vetoes are possible in lazy consensus vote) as per our
bylaws and as per the release process
(https://cwiki.apache.org/confluence/display/CLOUDSTACK/CloudMonkey+Release+Procedure).
