Question about the userdata availability

2014-12-20 Thread Nux!
Hello,

I notice that when a VM is deployed with userdata, this userdata is then
available at http://VR/latest/user-data indefinitely, subsequent reboots of the
VM will get the userdata again and again.

When the userdata is retrieved is there a way to let the VR know it has been
retrieved and can be deleted/deactivated?
Like there is the case with the root password script which send a
"DomU_Request: saved_password" header to confirm it.

work on a 4.4.3 fix-release?

Hi Daan,

To keep it short: +1

Increasing our release cadence will force us to solve our development processes
and infra issues.

exactly, I did't feel like it at all but this is kind of my reasoning as well.

+1 I'm sure a lot of users may be comfortable in upgrading to a minor
release than a major release.

I've already backported most of the fixes that I did for 4.3 to 4.4
branch and have updated the CHANGES file here;

https://git-wip-us.apache.org/repos/asf?p=cloudstack.git;a=blob;f=CHANGES.md;hb=4.4

Last time I checked using git "ours" merge strategy, 4.3 cleanly merges
into 4.4 branch but probably not a right way to do merges.

2014-12-20 Thread Marcus
Until we have 4.5 out, I think it's fair to keep up with bugfix releases
for the current and previously released versions. I know we discussed the
support cycle at one point, but I don't have it handy right now.

Besides, there seems to be a lot of interest in 4.3 at the moment, and
investment in its stability.
