[Desktop-packages] [Bug 969489] Re: lightdm tries (and fails) to start too early?
I am running kernel 3.2.0-54 in Ubuntu 12.04. After the last update, lightdm does not start so no gui. I tried editing the config for lightdm by adding some delay and the respawn but it did not work. Can anybody here tell me what is wrong by looking at the log? ** Attachment added: "lightdm log" https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/lightdm/+bug/969489/+attachment/3884424/+files/lightdm.log -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Desktop Packages, which is subscribed to lightdm in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/969489 Title: lightdm tries (and fails) to start too early? [Desktop-packages] [Bug 987220] Re: System does not power off reliably when "Shut Down" chosen from GUI
Shutdown using menu is working for me but using the terminal does not. If I do sudo shutdown -h 2:00 to shutdown at 2am, it hangs. Another thread said that it does not happen if root user is used. I'll post later if root is able to do it successfully. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Desktop Packages, which is subscribed to gnome-session in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/987220 Title: System does not power off reliably when "Shut Down" chosen from GUI Status in The Session Menu: Incomplete Status in “gnome-session” package in Ubuntu: Incomplete Status in “indicator-session” package in Ubuntu: Invalid Status in “linux” package in Ubuntu: Confirmed Status in “upstart” package in Ubuntu: Invalid Bug description: Shutting down the computer using the menue does not work always correct.
