[Desktop-packages] [Bug 2061983] [NEW] evince can't be upgraded on noble beta

2024-04-17 Thread Vidar Braut Haarr
Public bug reported:

Hi

If I try to perform a full-upgrade to noble beta, dpkg wants to remove
the evince package.

And if I try to only upgrade evince, then dpkg wants to remove inkscape
and gimp (in addition to removing and adding all the t64 lib stuff)

** Affects: evince (Ubuntu)
 Importance: Undecided
 Status: New

[Desktop-packages] [Bug 2051504] [NEW] 0.4.17-1ubuntu1 removes all output and input sinks in gnome settings

2024-01-29 Thread Vidar Braut Haarr
Public bug reported:

After the changes committed as part of
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/pipewire/+bug/1995707
(wireplumber 0.4.17-1ubuntu1), all input and output sinks are removed
from gnome settings on reboot.

Playing audio through celluloid (mpv) still works with the default sink,
while Firefox Nightly refuses to play anything.

I've tested this on two machines now;
- One running on nvidia+X11, without snapd installed.
- Another running on intel+wayland, also without snapd.

Reverting to 0.4.17-1 works fine, and gnome settings lists all output
and input sinks again.

No, but this event seems to happen most often when I go in/out of
fullscreen mode in celluloid (gnome-mpv) while playing a video with
subtitles:

I'm not sure if it's related to "nvLock: client timed out, taking the

[Desktop-packages] [Bug 1730035] Re: Needs to depend on Python3

2018-04-07 Thread Vidar Braut Haarr
So now I am required to have apport installed if I want xorg?
I've been running Ubuntu since the first release, and I have always removed
apport immediately after a clean install.

Now, I can't do that, because xorg+xserver-xorg seem to have hard-
depends on python3-apport.

  [Impact]

source_xorg.py apport hook does not work if python3 is not installed.

  [Test case]

install on a clean system, check that apport-bug xorg does the right
  thing.

  [Regression potential]

Minimal, just adds the correct dependencies that were missing.

[Desktop-packages] [Bug 2046844] Re: AppArmor user namespace creation restrictions cause many applications to crash with SIGTRAP

2024-10-18 Thread Vidar Braut Haarr
Is this bug supposed to be fixed in oracular with 4.1.0~beta1-0ubuntu3?
I need to run with --no-sandbox on existing appimages at least, and it's
nearly impossible to do development work on for example electron apps
without explicitly setting sysctl -w
kernel.apparmor_restrict_unprivileged_userns=0.

[Desktop-packages] [Bug 2102203] [NEW] Please update to 3.14

2025-03-13 Thread Vidar Braut Haarr
Public bug reported:

Hi,

Please update freerdp3 to at least 3.14.x, specifically because of this
commit:
https://github.com/FreeRDP/FreeRDP/commit/7af234347729bb2f4d4e90d9f9829dd1d1c87f77
(I think, not entirely sure)

RDP connections are completely broken with 3.12.x unless you enable
"Ignore certificate" in the Remmina advanced connection profile options.

See:
- https://gitlab.com/Remmina/Remmina/-/issues/3305
- https://gitlab.com/Remmina/Remmina/-/issues/3304
- https://gitlab.com/Remmina/Remmina/-/issues/3302

Frankly I'm not sure which of these are fixed or which affect the
current version in plucky, I just know remmina is completely broken -
and especially on Wayland it crashes all the time. I've had to revert to
X11 for now.

** Affects: freerdp3 (Ubuntu)
 Importance: Undecided
