[Bug 2054217] [NEW] Settings app in Ubuntu Mantic keeps crashing
Public bug reported: The GNOME settings app in Ubuntu Mantic (23.10, GNOME 45) occasionally keeps crashing when I move around its various sections. At times it even happens consecutively. [Bug 2054907] [NEW] GNOME Control Center (Settings app) crashes every now and then, especially when switching sections.
Public bug reported: On Ubuntu 23.10 (Mantic), GNOME Control Center (the Settings app) keeps crashing every now and then when I am using it; often happening when I switch sections. One of the sections which takes the blame is the Privacy page, which occasionally has a tendency to lock up the Settings app and crash it; at times erroneously showing Thunderbolt settings, even though Thunderbolt does not exist on my system. [Bug 2084223] [NEW] Flatpak apps in Ubuntu 24.10 do not respect Warty Brown accent colour
Public bug reported: In Ubuntu 24.10, when using the Warty Brown accent colour, Flatpak apps do not respect the accent colour and instead fall back to orange accent colour. This issue does not occur with any other accent colour. Attached is a screenshot showing this issue - as an example I have shown Fragments and Parabolic downloaded via Flatpak. Please look into and fix this issue ASAP. ProblemType: Bug DistroRelease: Ubuntu 24.10 Package: flatpak 1.14.10-1 ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 6.11.0-8.8-generic 6.11.0 Uname: Linux 6.11.0-8-generic x86_64 ApportVersion: 2.30.0-0ubuntu4 Architecture: amd64 CasperMD5CheckResult: unknown CurrentDesktop: ubuntu:GNOME Date: Fri Oct 11 08:51:06 2024 ProcEnviron: LANG=en_US.UTF-8 PATH=(custom, no user) SHELL=/bin/bash TERM=xterm-256color XDG_RUNTIME_DIR= SourcePackage: flatpak UpgradeStatus: No upgrade log present (probably fresh install) ** Affects: flatpak (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: amd64 apport-bug oracular wayland-session ** Attachment added: "Screenshot showing how Flatpak apps don't respect Warty Brown accent colour." https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/2084223/+attachment/5826946/+files/Screenshot%20From%202024-10-11%2008-58-42.png -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to flatpak in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/2084223 Title: Flatpak apps in Ubuntu 24.10 do not respect Warty Brown accent colour To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/flatpak/+bug/2084223/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
[Bug 2082532] [NEW] Background color of some apps in Ubuntu 24.10 beta vary with accent colour
Public bug reported: In Ubuntu 24.10 beta, the background color of some apps, such as the Settings app and the Calculator app goes darker when using the Yellow accent colour. This problem does not occur with any other accent colour. Attached is a comparison of the two apps; showing the issue when using Yellow accent colour, and how it normally should be (I've used Orange accent colour to demonstrate the latter.) Even though in my testing I have found the issue with these two apps, this issue might persist on other apps as well. My hitch is that the yellow accent colour had been ported from upstream Gnome without changing the background colour attribute in question; while the other accent colours are from prior Ubuntu versions. Please look into this issue and follow up ASAP. ProblemType: Bug DistroRelease: Ubuntu 24.10 Package: gnome-control-center 1:47.0.1-1ubuntu1 ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 6.11.0-8.8-generic 6.11.0 Uname: Linux 6.11.0-8-generic x86_64 ApportVersion: 2.30.0-0ubuntu2 Architecture: amd64 CasperMD5CheckResult: unknown CurrentDesktop: ubuntu:GNOME Date: Thu Sep 26 20:53:25 2024 ProcEnviron: LANG=en_US.UTF-8 PATH=(custom, no user) SHELL=/bin/bash TERM=xterm-256color XDG_RUNTIME_DIR= SourcePackage: gnome-control-center UpgradeStatus: Upgraded to oracular on 2024-09-23 (3 days ago) ** Affects: gnome-control-center (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: amd64 apport-bug oracular wayland-session ** Attachment added: "Comparison.png" https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/2082532/+attachment/5822196/+files/Comparison.png -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gnome-control-center in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/2082532 Title: Background color of some apps in Ubuntu 24.10 beta vary with accent colour To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-control-center/+bug/2082532/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
[Bug 2092792] [NEW] The settings app occassionally hangs when switching between various settings pages
Public bug reported: The GNOME Settings app occasionally keeps freezing. This action happens at times when moving between settings pages, as well at other times randomly. [Bug 2092793] [NEW] Incorrect appearance of touchpad animation in Gnome Settings
Public bug reported: In GNOME settings, version 47.0.1, there is an appearance bug with one of the touchpad animations in the touchpad settings page. The tap-to- click touchpad animation does not look quite right. The touchpad square is solid orange (or whatever theme colour is set), and not grey as with the other animations. Also on the topic of theme colours, the accent theme colour does not apply properly to the touchpad tap-to-click animation with certain colours, with orange it is okay, but with say green or lavender the colours of the animation become totally wrong. Attached is a ZIP archive with screenshots showing this bug in action. Please look into this appearance bug as soon as possible. [Bug 2106311] [NEW] File picker does not work in browsers in Ubuntu 25.04 beta
Public bug reported: In Ubuntu 25.04 Beta, the file picker in any browser does not work as intended when uploading or downloading a file. I have tested this on Firefox and Chromium, and I am unable to upload or download a file using the file picker. I can download files in either browser if I turn off the option to ask my download location, however, if I do enable it I am unable to save the file. The file picker however works okay in other applications such as Text Editor. Please look into this bug and take the necessary action ASAP, as it greatly impacts my workflow and potentially those of others as well, as I am unable to upload or download any files through a web browser. (P.S. I am submitting this report for the Nautilus package instead of the Chromium or Firefox package as it affects both and I am not exactly sure where to put it - do please move it to the appropriate package.) [Bug 2106311] Re: File picker does not work in browsers in Ubuntu 25.04 beta
Hi. I have attached the journalctl output as requested. Please fix this bug ASAP, as it is really a headache for me when I am trying to save or upload files from a browser. In fact to upload the journalctl output, I had to switch to a Windows machine. ** Attachment added: "Journalctl output" https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xdg-desktop-portal-gnome/+bug/2106311/+attachment/5870617/+files/journal.txt -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to nautilus in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/2106311 Title: File picker does not work in browsers in Ubuntu 25.04 beta To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/nautilus/+bug/2106311/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
