[Bug 552650] Re: gnome-appearance-properties crashed with SIGSEGV in g_closure_invoke()
** Description changed: Binary package hint: gnome-control-center This is related to the new feature that allows switching the button position based upon the theme selected. Crash occurred when switching themes between Ambiance custom theme that had button placement in the right upper window corner. When I re-opened Appearances and went to themes, I was once again presented with the option to move the buttons back to the left side in Ambiance. This is being implemented in the right way, even if new bugs have been introduced. Whether or not it works is inconsistent though, as if not all indicators are being polled. Else it's in the dialog box itself that queries the user about their preference. Suggestion: Ask the user if they want the button position right or left, Asking if they want to "revert" is ambiguous. Does that mean the original position for that theme (and does it mean that theme only), as the button_layout data had edited with gconf or in the "traditional" upper right? - Yes, I'm one of the guys that's been editing metacity;s button_layout + Yes, I'm one of the guys that's been editing metacity's button_layout with gconf-editor. As of the moment button_layout is consistent with the Ambiance theme as originally designed. But when I tried to change back to Clearlooks, the button placement is still left (where I don't want it) and Appearance crashed again. [Bug 549923] Re: gnome-appearance-properties crashed with SIGSEGV in g_closure_invoke()
How could these packages be outdated? This was a fresh install of 10.04 Beta 1 the day after its release. All possible updates are being applied as they are released, as fast as I can possibly get them. In the meantime I'm seeing posts on UF that discuss these new packages a day or two before they apparently show up on my update server's repository. Obviously things are changing rapidly as the planned release date approaches. For all I know this report is irrelevant. Installed versions of some packages listed above by Apport retracing service have already been superseded. We may as well close this bug and label irrelevant. Yes this is inconvenient. Once again apport doesn't seem to provide sufficient information to allow anyone to move forward. -- gnome-appearance-properties crashed with SIGSEGV in g_closure_invoke() https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/549923 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gnome-control-center in ubuntu. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
[Bug 574876] Re: swell-foop segfaults with error 4 in libclutter-glx-1.0.so.0.200.4
And I'm getting the virtually the same error but in the 64-bit kernel and packages. Apport isn't catching any crash data at all. May 6 21:49:06 tobuntu kernel: [18764.433690] seed[5837]: segfault at 20 ip 7f740a014fd0 sp 7fff20ff5bc8 error 4 in libclutter-glx-1.0.so.0.200.4[7f7409fe8000+f] May 6 21:51:45 tobuntu kernel: [18923.836285] seed[5843]: segfault at 20 ip 7fe6a25d4fd0 sp 7fff54121618 error 4 in libclutter-glx-1.0.so.0.200.4[7fe6a25a8000+f] May 6 21:53:18 tobuntu kernel: [19016.058094] seed[5849]: segfault at 20 ip 7f4d43914fd0 sp 7fff3d95c538 error 4 in libclutter-glx-1.0.so.0.200.4[7f4d438e8000+f] May 6 22:28:52 tobuntu kernel: [21150.866792] seed[6821]: segfault at 20 ip 7f8eecfd4fd0 sp 7fff1b354358 error 4 in libclutter-glx-1.0.so.0.200.4[7f8eecfa8000+f] May 6 22:31:01 tobuntu kernel: [21279.514692] seed[6827]: segfault at 20 ip 7f7de5894fd0 sp 7fff41d773e8 error 4 in libclutter-glx-1.0.so.0.200.4[7f7de5868000+f] As you can see, this is easily repeatable. Where it crashes in the course of the game seems to depend on gameplay action of certain pattern(s) of squares being removed right after the mouseclick to make that move. Is this is perhaps a problem communicating with the fglrx driver? If so, this is the only problem where the video driver may be involved that I'm having. But I noticed the original report refers to the fglrx driver too. Sorry, the segfault messages are all the evidence of the crash I can get. [Bug 574876] Re: swell-foop segfaults with error 4 in libclutter-glx-1.0.so.0.200.4
One of my desktops is doing the same thing as my laptop above. The biggest difference is the laptop was upgraded from 9.04. The desktop was a fresh Lucid install with the beta2, then updated. Both are 64-bit. Here's the messages on the segfault.
