[Bug 1058372] Re: yelp crashed with SIGSEGV in yelp_application_command_line()
** Attachment added: "Install-Welcome-English-Ubuntu Help.png" https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/yelp/+bug/1058372/+attachment/3353593/+files/Install-Welcome-English-Ubuntu%20Help.png ** Description changed: On my Gateway MA7 laptop, I have Ubuntu 12.04.1 installed with the latest updates. I decided to test Ubuntu 12.10 beta 2 that just came out by using the file ubuntu-12.10-beta2-desktop-amd64.iso within VirtualBox 4.1.12 (4.1.12-dsfg-2ubuntu0.1). - At the 1st graphical screen of the live .iso, I tried to access the Ubuntu Help (via the top right corner on menu bar) but nothing happened. After trying a few more times and waiting, I pressed "Try Ubuntu". Then, after it had finished loading the live session, it informed me that an application had crashed and offered me to file this crash report. + At the 1st graphical screen of the live .iso, I tried to access the Ubuntu Help via the top right corner on menu bar (see attached screen capture) but nothing happened. [Bug 1072749] Re: searching for "Ubuntu Help" doesn't return any results
Where is the: comment/keywords changed? >From what Jeremy did (reassign the bug from "software-centre" to "yelp") it >seems that is is the packager's responsibility. If this is the case, I think a separate process within the "software-centre" team should also be dealing with these issues...and this could be an ideal Paper-Cut Project task. The reason I'm asking is that I have filed 2 other similar bugs that do not show the expected package in the Ubuntu Software Centre or the Unity Dash. see: 1. bug #1050803: no "antivirus" search results such as ClamTK https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/software-center/+bug/1050803 and 2. bug #1071847: Search: "Excel" or ".xls" does not return: "LibreOffice Calc" https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/software-center/+bug/1071847 Looking forward to learning more about the intricacies of filling Ubuntu bugs. [Bug 1072749] Re: searching for "Ubuntu Help" doesn't return yelp in Ubuntu Software Centre
I was more concerned about the search results in the Ubuntu Software Centre than the Unity Dash. Does the Ubuntu Software Centre only search a mega collection of *.desktop files? If not, the two are returning results using different approaches for returning search results. Then, shouldn't they be submitted as separate bugs?
