[Bug 804891] Re: nautilus crashed with SIGSEGV in g_timer_stop()

2011-09-08 Thread Scott Stensland
I also just got this same crash
just prior to crash my freshly launched nautilus window went DARK
as apps do when the machine is busy and app is not responsive
I feel nautilus is TOO sensitive to such resource constrained (cpu or I/O)
delays
and pops up with such a crash window prematurely - it needs to chill a bit more
before throwing up its hands and claiming a crash happened

[Bug 1725371] [NEW] 17.10 nautilus 3.26.0 fails to recognize mouse middle button to lower window

2017-10-20 Thread Scott Stensland
Public bug reported:

It's very handy to send any open Ubuntu application window to below all
other open windows (it says open yet now occluded) by clicking mouse
middle button on window title bar (opposite of left mouse click to bring
to focus front) ... this works fine on all Ubuntu 17.10 applications
except fails on Ubuntu 17.10's file explorer nautilus 3.26.0 which has a
non-standard looking title bar.

This behavior continues to be OK on all other 17.10 applications...
Nautilus worked on previous Ubuntu releases ... I hope other apps
refrain from using this new window behavior

Any ideas on why nautilus breaks this convention? Or how to fix it?

Just to show that middle click is correctly defined as default to lower

gsettings get org.gnome.desktop.wm.preferences action-middle-click-
titlebar

'lower'

to see I am not using wayland

loginctl show-session c2 -p Type

Type=x11

[Bug 1806165] [NEW] Ubuntu 18.10 I get logged off on resume from suspend - Unregistered Authentication Agent for unix-session

2018-11-30 Thread Scott Stensland
Public bug reported:

This is not a problem using only built in laptop screen however when I
attach an external monitor and choose

Setting->Display->Single Display

then choose the external monitor to be the only active screen -> then
when I suspend upon resume the external monitor lights up showing the
password prompt which is good however after entering password all my
launched applications are no longer running ... according to
/var/log/auth.log I get logged me out during this suspend/resume - this
issue is repeatable

getting same behaviour whether using nouveau or nvidia drivers ... its a
fresh 18.10 install not an upgrade

Here is a clip from /var/log/auth.log look closely at messages just after `Lid
opened`

[Bug 1174162] Re: chrome-browser makes gnome-keyring-daemon use 100% cpu

2019-01-29 Thread Scott Stensland
Same very high CPU on Ubuntu 19.04 just
after I installed, launched and logged into gmail
using browser chrome Version 73.0.3679.0 (Official Build) dev (64-bit)

After 5 mins

/usr/bin/gnome-keyring-daemon --daemonize --login

no longer used high CPU

[Bug 1433032] Re: Starting Chrome makes gnome-keyring-daemon loading 100% of a CPU thread for 5 at least mins

2015-10-15 Thread Scott Stensland
My system typically runs just fine even with
~/.local/share/keyrings/login.keyring over 1.3 mb with 5000+ lines,
however CPU goes over 75% only when I setup auto login without ubuntu password
prompt on reboot.
I do get that keyring password prompt a few seconds after boot completes. Then
CPU goes through the roof.
ubuntu 14.04As a top-gap I am going back to the normal boot login password
prompt

[Bug 1174162] Re: chrome-browser makes gnome-keyring-daemon use 100% cpu

2016-03-03 Thread Scott Stensland
This issue just happened to me again ubuntu 16.04 ... although not
specific to that release as it happens on earlier releases too

... it was after changing my Google password
... I then needed to reboot for another reason
... after boot I then launched Chrome browser Version 50.0.2661.11 dev
(64-bit) and then noticed very high CPU usage

... on Chrome browser top right of menubar was a yellow triangle
... I clicked it and was prompted to login to Google

... after this login the high CPU usage immediately stopped

nautilus -> Files -> Preferences -> Behaviour

changes I make here fail to be remembered for example

by default value of -> Behaviour -> Open Action -> is "Double click to
open items"

however when I choose "Single click to open items"

then close nautilus and re-open nautilus that Preference change did not take
This is also true for other Preference changes ... nautilus fails to retain
Preference changes

Importantly when I make same change using tool dconf-editor on a virgin
box it correctly make the setting changes

2011-06-14 Thread Scott Stensland

[Bug 2110506] Re: crashes on export

2025-05-14 Thread Scott Stensland
my fault I did not realize I was only subscribed to "Security updates
only" so when I changed it to "All updates" and did a update it did a
massive package refresh and now my gimp is current ... before it was not

```
