[Bug 496055] [NEW] freecell crashes without pattern
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: gnome-games Karmic Koala, Asus 1000 HE, external monitor (LG W2252TQ). No obvious pattern except that it happens while I'm moving a card; could be early in game, could be late. Doesn't seem to depend upon memory usage or time of day. Sometimes a card will move slowly, other times no apparent warning. In the middle of the move, the screen blanks and the system restarts (as it would after a cntrl/alt/backspace) as if restarting X windowing system. Frequency: 3-4 times/day. Re: [Bug 483698] Re: AisleRiot spider game slows down then it aborts causing user to re log-in.
Ray, Most of the time, my machines do the same as your reported. Other times, I can tell the crash is coming because the card I'm moving starts to slow down, and even stopping the mouse does not prevent the crash. I've got Karmic Koala on several different machines and it does the same thing on all of them. So far, it's been little more than an annoyance, but I've started saving my work before "taking a break." Have you found any work around?? Re: [Bug 483698] Re: AisleRiot spider game slows down then it aborts causing user to re log-in.
I've also checked other Aisleriot games and found the same thing. The majority of the machines I use have the Intel chipset similar to the one integrated into the Atom N280. (I'd have to check to see what chipset is in my old Compaq laptop...) Any similarities that can be tracked to the video chipsets? It also doesn't seem to be related to the number of programs or windows that are open, so I don't immediately suspect a memory shortage. [Bug 310907] Re: [Intrepid] Dragging in Freecell Crashes XWindows
This is a frequent problem, occurring several times a day. I'm running the latest version of Karmic Koala. -- [Intrepid] Dragging in Freecell Crashes XWindows https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/310907 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is a bug assignee. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
