[Bug 423962] [NEW] 9.10 alpha 5 grub syntax error
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: bug-buddy I just downloaded and installed the 9.10 alpha 5 i386 iso, and installed Ubuntu on a Dell Precision M65 (XP 32bit SP3) using Wubi. Once rebooted and I can choose between Windows and Ubuntu, when I choose Ubuntu I get the following every single time: syntax error Incorrect command syntax error Could not find a bootloader configuration syntax error Incorrect command syntax error sh:grub> Wubi did not successfully install in alpha 4 nor alpha 3, but even with alpha 5 Wubi can't install 9.10 correctly. This getting tiring. ** Affects: bug-buddy (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- 9.10 alpha 5 grub syntax error https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/423962 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to bug-buddy in ubuntu. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 423962] Re: 9.10 alpha 5 grub syntax error
9.10 alpha 3 and 4 just went into a reboot spiral when installed using Wubi. At least alpha 5 doesn't go into a reboot spiral, but alphas of 9.04 and 8.10 were able to install using Wubi most of the time. -- 9.10 alpha 5 grub syntax error https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/423962 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to bug-buddy in ubuntu. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
[Bug 197849] Re: Click to open date/time causes unresponsiveness in GNOME Panel
This appears to be fixed now from the package updates I did today (3/3/08). Not sure what was the cause or the solution, but after the package update I ran, I tried to click in the date/time/weather in the panel and it worked again. After getting all possible latest updates today (March 4/2008) this issue still exists. I am including a screen capture. ** Attachment added: "Bottom_Screen_Menu.png" http://launchpadlibrarian.net/12441805/Bottom_Screen_Menu.png -- Status list has empty space on top when list popups at the bottom https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/64631 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is a bug assignee. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

Sebastien, I am new to Ubuntu/Linux, and so don't know what a bug-buddy is, nor what you mean by .local/share/applications. [Bug 200036] Re: Setting the time using the clock applet, shows authentication window below time settings window
This also happens to be on my updated Hardy alpha 6. I am including a screenshot I had to take with my phone because Ubuntu is so unresponsive I can't bring up anything let alone take a screen capture. ** Attachment added: "IMG00222.jpg" http://launchpadlibrarian.net/12553755/IMG00222.jpg -- Setting the time using the clock applet, shows authentication window below time settings window https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/200036 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gnome-panel in ubuntu. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 200760] [NEW] [Hardy a6] Incorrect Daylight savings time
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: gnome-panel After this weekend's time change to Daylight Saving time in USA/Canada, Ubuntu does not show the correct time. See the screen capture I have included. You'll notice that Dallas shows CST where as it should say CDT, and that Waterloo (eastern timezone) is correct at EDT but the difference from Eastern to Central is only 1 hour, not 2 hours as seen here. Also the difference between Dallas and Berlin will be only 6 hours for a few days until Germany shifts to Daylight Saving time, and not 7 hours as seen here. ** Affects: gnome-panel (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- [Hardy a6] Incorrect Daylight savings time https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/200760 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gnome-panel in ubuntu. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

Also picks wrong tims to show difference between Dallas Tx and Waterloo On, Canada, which are Central and Eastern respectively. [Bug 223389] [NEW] 8.04 Gnome panel Date and Time locks panel on Startup
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: yelp I have observed this issue in the Released 8.04 as well as various alpha versions. When I startup Ubuntu and if I immediately proceed to open the Date/Time in Gnome Panel, then the entires panel becomes unresponsive. I am unable to click on the On button to select a Restart, and if I Ctrl+Alt+Del and click on Restart, Ubuntu then also does not Restart. I was able to use Switch User, but when Ubuntu Gnome came back up the Gnome Panel was mostly blank. This issue does not seem to occur if upon Ubuntu startup I don't immediately go to Date & Time then Gnome panel seems to act normally.
