[Bug 391398] [NEW] Applications segfault with gtk+ version 2.17.2 when selecting listbox values

2009-06-23 Thread Jeff Greene
Public bug reported:

Description:
After updating gtk+2.0 from version 2.17.0 to 2.17.2 on Ubuntu Karmic Koala,
gtk+ applications crash from a segfault caused by something in the
libgtk-x11-2.0.so.0.1702.0 file.

Applications Affected:
evince
transmission
nautilus
Other gtk+ applications that call this file.

How to Recreate crash:
Open up an application (such as transmission) and go to a listbox and scroll
with the mouse wheel (sometimes clicking will also crash it).

Note:
When launching affected programs from terminal, this message appears:
Gtk-CRITICAL **: gtk_tree_sortable_set_sort_column_id: assertion
`GTK_IS_TREE_SORTABLE (sortable)' failed

Output from dmesg after crash:
segfault at dc01f060 ip 7f3cf56fee59 sp 7fff22ac7f20 error 4 in
libgtk-x11-2.0.so.0.1702.0[7f3cf5649000+43e000]

Workaround:
Reverting to 2.17.0-0ubuntu1 fixes these problems.

[Bug 61446] Re: [2.0 beta3] Crash when receiving transferred file

2006-09-23 Thread Jeff Greene
Gaim has segfaulted and attempted to dump a core file.
This is a bug in the software and has happened through
no fault of your own.

If you can reproduce the crash, please notify the gaim
developers by reporting a bug at
http://gaim.sourceforge.net/bug.php

Please make sure to specify what you were doing at the time
and post the backtrace from the core file. If you do not know
how to get the backtrace, please read the instructions at
http://gaim.sourceforge.net/gdb.php

If you need further assistance, please IM either SeanEgn or
LSchiere (via AIM). Contact information for Sean and Luke

2006-09-23 Thread Jeff Greene
Attached is a crash log when running it in debug mode.
To repeat the steps for the crash:
1. Ask someone to send you a file.
2. When the file accept/cancel window comes up, just leave it there for 5-10
seconds.
3. Watch it crash.

Note: I am running this on Edgy Knot 3 with gaim 2.0 beta3.1, but I know
it failed in Dapper and I think Windows too.

[Bug 39640] Re: [2.0beta3] gaim: status pulldown menu is half empty (drawn offscreen)

2006-09-23 Thread Jeff Greene
This happened to me, but I was able to scroll down to see the rest of
the menu. Considering that I keep the buddy list stretched from the top
to the bottom of the screen, this can be a pain. I would rather have it
where the list just goes above the button if it needs to (or always). I
am guessing that most people have their buddy lists near the bottom and
so this feature will be rarely useful.

[Bug 62633] Only First Hard Drive Accessible

2006-09-27 Thread Jeff Greene
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: gparted

I am using the latest version of Edgy and GParted only detects my first hard
drive. It was detected in Dapper and using the livecd for GParted. The only
workaround that I know of is to manually run GParted with the hard drives
specified.
(For instance: gparted /dev/sda /dev/sdb)

I compiled the latest version of GParted and tried it again in Edgy, but
it still did not work.

I had reported this bug to GParted earlier, but found that it is a problem with

In that case, stop the installer and run GParted manually by typing:
gparted /dev/hda /dev/hdb which will detect both drives. Partition it
manually with gparted and then try running the installer again. You
won't be able to make partition changes to /dev/hdb, but I believe you
will be able to install it that way..

2006-10-16 Thread Jeff Greene
I have tested this, and it is true that you cannot insert pictures (or
other files) over certain protocols, such as Jabber or MSN. However, you
can insert pictures (and only pictures) directly into the conversation
in other protocols such as AIM. I think that for protocols that support
inserting, it should insert the file. If they only support sending, it
should start sending the file. Otherwise, this feature should be
disabled.

When you drag an image to the conversation window, the place where the
buddy icon goes should expand so you have the option to drag it to
there.

[Bug 66759] Re: Gnome system tray icon broken

2006-10-18 Thread Jeff Greene
I am not able to reproduce this problem. I had the gaim system tray icon
configured to show from the start. Can you try uninstalling gaim with
synaptic and removing all configuration files completely and delete your
.gaim folder again, then try reinstalling it? Is there anything that you
might have done that you think would help me be able to reproduce this
bug?
