Affects: gnome-terminal (Ubuntu)
   Severity: Normal
   Priority: (none set)
 Status: Unconfirmed

[Bug 2018618] [NEW] highlight width is too large in some documents

2023-05-05 Thread javier
Public bug reported:

The problem happens with Document Viewer (evince). When I select the
text to highlight from some documents the size covers more than half of
the next line and when highlighting it paints everything selected. If
there is a way to change the size of the highlight it would fix the
problem, but I'm not sure if it exists.

I also think this is somewhat Cairo related. After trying the XGL server
(using unofficial dapper packages from xgl.compiz.info) I can not see
the grabled problems anymore... I've went back to normal XORG and now
this bug seems to be gone.

Installing XGL packages upgraded libcairo2 to version 1.2.0 so my guess
is that helped

[Bug 44972] Toolbar colors are wrong

2006-05-16 Thread Javier Ruiz
Public bug reported:

Hi,

Using epiphany with "text beside icons" on the toolbar button labels
results on scrambled colors when the cursor is over the toolbar buttons.
Epiphany is the only application where I can see this problem.

It seems that somewhere in the combination of the ubuntu theme
(default), radeon driver (I'm on a radeon 9000) and epiphany browser
something is mixed up :-(

I've set a small video demostrating the problem. You can see it here
(flash needed):

http://gps-tsc.upc.es/imatge/_Jrh/ubuntu/toolbar_bug.html

let me know if I can do anything else.

[Bug 38198] Re: Garbled using open source Radeon driver

2006-06-01 Thread Javier Ruiz
I just wanted to add that I see the corruption even with "RenderAccel"
to "false" in the radeon section of the xorg.conf file.

I've been experiencing the corruption in dapper for several months now,
mostly on epiphany and muine applications but lately (a couple of weeks)
it has gone worse and all applications are affected.

It also fails if you try to execute gnome-control-center on a headless
computer, I don't see how this could affect someone, it seems gnome-
control-center setup everything before reading parameters and print
something, probably will take them a reasonable effort (or hack) to make
an exception for --version.

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make
Ubuntu better. Please try to obtain a backtrace following the
instructions at http://wiki.ubuntu.com/DebuggingProgramCrash and upload
the backtrace (as an attachment) to the bug report.

This will greatly help a developer to track down your problem.

The attached backtrace even when could refer to the same problem has no
symbols and therefore cannot be used for a developer to discover what
failed and how to create a fix.

there are three backend engines, source-highlight, highlight and vim, all
optional

[Bug 60448] Re: .xsession-errors file grows out of control & saturates disk space

2014-07-10 Thread Javier P.L.
I became affected by this bug after passing control to /etc/X11/Xsession
from ~/.xinitrc with Slim as login manager, since I barely log
out/reboot I started looking for a way to fix it and I found a quite
clean way to do it in this post:

http://www.mail-archive.com/debian-edu@lists.debian.org/msg14226.html

By creating a /etc/Xsession.d/05noerrfile file.

I think it should be considered to be the default behavior.

I'm running Ubuntu 12.04, slim, i3.
