[Bug 173721] Re: Gnome keyboard layout options (like remapping Caps Lock) are not reapplied after reboot

2008-05-23 Thread G
Unfortunately bug isn't fixed yet. This is essential feature for my
computer at home - not having to type login/password every time I turn
on PC. Seems no one from Canonical is interested in fixing this...

[Bug 173721] Re: Gnome keyboard layout options (like remapping Caps Lock) are not reapplied after reboot

2008-03-06 Thread G
Unfortunately bug wasn't fixed yet, at least after updating to Hardy today.
Interesting thing, that after disabling "Enable Automatic Login" in GDM
configuration problem was fixed.
It's possible that GDM performs some initialization related to
gnome-settings-daemon when not started in Autologin mode and otherwise not.

[Bug 201979] [NEW] unkown playback error

2008-03-13 Thread G
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: rhythmbox

Hello

I am new to this type of OS so please bear with me.
I am the owner and Program Director of World's Cool JazZ, wcjz.com.
I tried to play our 48k aacPlus stream on you player and all I receive is
"unkown playback error"
The Ubuntu release is 7.10(gutsy) with 2.5 gig of ram and a 2.2 gig AMD64
processor.
Rhythmbox 0.11.2 came with the Ubuntu install, which is the player I tried to
listen to our internet streams with.
I also tried our pop-up players and neither the 48k aacPlus or the 64k Mp3Pro
work in this OS.
The 48k aacPlus pop-up requires a plugin for Firefox and the 64k pop-up is
similar to the embedded Windows Media Player. We have a How-To on our site and
I would like to add Linux to the players and plug-ins for those that want to
listen to our station with your player. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you
G

[Bug 30555] Re: rhythmbox crash when I add a lot of music to the library

2006-09-18 Thread G
The same problem for me!
Ubuntu Dapper 6.06 LTS
amd64

I tested it with many music files. When i add 500 and less files it
works good. When add all my music collection (3000+), it crashes
immediately or on the next launch (this occurs random, for example i can
run rhytmbox for a couple of times and after 5-10 tries it don't
crashes).

[Bug 209532] Re: Accessibility keyboard settings get lost

2010-09-10 Thread josh g.
truant,
Hmm, could be something's fixed then. This just came back to mind for me
yesterday as I picked up my linux netbook that I haven't used for a few months.
The settings are correctly stored for me at the moment. I'll keep an eye on
it as I use this for the next week or two and confirm if it's still working for
me then.

David,
Those issues are also important but if this bug is primarily about whether or
not the settings are being saved, then the issue of audio cues for modifier
keys should be raised as a separate issue, either as a feature request or as a
separate bug report.

I *think* I've had to turn on the "ignore duplicate keypresses" setting
more than once since installing Jaunty, but I checked now and the
setting did survive a reboot so I could be wrong.

I'll try to keep an eye on it and post back here if the setting persists
for a week or so without resetting.

[Bug 377473] Re: Audio problems running video call with Skype

2009-05-17 Thread G. Arena
I suffer the same problem with my PC. It is caused by the Ubuntu insistence in
using 'pulseaudio' in the new releases. I patched up my PC by removing
'pulseaudio' and installing 'esound' in its place. Now the Audio works and I
can use Skype. The problem is that, with any new update, Ubuntu reinstalls
'pulseaudio' and I am obliged to repeat the procedure.
You can find how to do it via Google or ask me for more details.

Hi!
In Terminal, (Main menu -> Accessories -> Terminal), enter the following:

[Bug 413580] [NEW] Deleting an item removes the file but triggers Missing Files

2009-08-14 Thread Nick G
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: rhythmbox

Although the summary is brief it is a fairly good summary.

By deleting a track from within rhythmbox, specifically when viewing the
Music tab on the left and viewing all items, the file is removed (sent
to Deleted Items) however it then flags the Missing Files item on the
left as well indicating that the file is no longer present.

It should probably remove it from the library, stop monitoring it and
then move the file.

More information:
Description:Ubuntu 9.04
Release:9.04

rhythmbox:
  Installed: 0.12.0-0ubuntu4

  Version table:
 *** 0.12.0-0ubuntu4 0

What you expected to happen - file deleted, no further information required.
What happened instead - file deleted, warning appears on the left under Missing
Files that can scare the living hell out of someone like my nan. I didnt even
realise i had to click Remove until i'd restarted rhythmbox!

[Bug 421530] [NEW] Cover art plungin - Amazon product advertising API now requires signature

[Bug 426981] [NEW] Unicode characters in symbolic names causes stat error: file not found.

2009-09-09 Thread Shalom G.
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: rhythmbox

When trying to open symbolic links pointing to MP3 files, Rhythmbox fails to
open or import them to the media library with "Couldn't access :
Error stating '/...': No such file or directory.
Checking debug logs, the filenames are indeed encoded in UTF-8 and
G_FILENAME_ENCODING='@locale' did not solve the issue.
Additionally, the problem only occurs if both the name of the symbolic link and
its target contain non-ASCII Unicode characters. If only one of those contains
them, it works as expected.
Also, I have symbolic links to directories where both the link and its target
contain non-ASCII characters and the files contained in them (also with
non-ASCII characters) are played fine.

[Bug 1828116] Re: Password works uppercase and lowercase

2019-05-15 Thread G S
> Do you get the issue in the lock screen as well on only on the boot greeter?
Yes

> Could you try adding another user to the system and see if it has the
same bug?

Here are my steps:
1. Add a new user with a password made of lowercase, numbers and a % sign
1. Lock the screen
1. "Login as another user"
1. Use the lowercase password
1. Logged in
1. Lock the screen
1. Use the same password, with capslock on
1. Logged in

To be clear, it works when:
* There is an external keyboard connected to the laptop and I use the external
keyboard
* There is an external keyboard connected to the laptop and I use the internal
keyboard
* There is no external keyboard connected to the laptop and I use the internal
keyboard

If you have any pointers, I'm happy to help by providing logs and
looking at/building some code. I won't touch any config until we sort
this out

How can they be related to this issue though? I would look for keyboard
issues more than video drivers. Could these errors be happening because
I have another monitor connected? I will try again without another
monitor connected.

Enable "Preferences -> View -> Show Source Toolbar" to see ripping
options. ( This option is not persistent across rhythmbox restarts,

[Bug 1704678] [NEW] Searching keyserver with dot containing string causes parsing error

2017-07-16 Thread Robert G
Public bug reported:

Using seahorse function "Remote" > "Find Remote Keys" and typing in a
name that contains dots results in very strange output. Where the names
are usually display is a mess of characters as if the same position was
drawn multiple times with different chars. Instead of the e-mail address
there is what seems to be code. Unfortunately I closed seahorse and I
didn't take a screenshot, key servers are currently giving me internal
server errors (hopefully this issue didn't occur on the server side).

One possible string that seem to trigger the bug is "S.H.I.E.L.D."

[Bug 1672035] Re: Audio-CD extracting not possible

2017-12-07 Thread rithik g
I meant gstreamer plugins, not rhythmbox plugins.

Run the following commands in terminal ( Terminal Emulator )

1. sudo bash ( enter your user password when prompted )
2. apt-get install gstreamer1.0-plugins-ugly

Now extract should work fine.

[Bug 1611295] Re: rhythmbox play/pause button

2017-12-07 Thread rithik g
app.play action translates to "rb_shell_player_playpause" in code,

/**
 * rb_shell_player_playpause:
 * @player: the #RBShellPlayer
 * @error: returns error information
 *
 * Toggles between playing and paused state. If there is no playing
 * entry, chooses an entry from (in order of preference) the play queue,
 * the selection in the current source, or the play order.
 *
 * Return value: %TRUE if successful
 */
gboolean
rb_shell_player_playpause (RBShellPlayer *player,
   GError **error) {
..
..
}

so, the label should be modified from "Play" to "Play / Pause" in
restore-traditional-menubar.patch

[Bug 1620488] Re: "Tools" option in Rhythmbox music player does not show up with fullscreen

2017-12-07 Thread rithik g
There is nothing to show up in "Tools" ( menu is empty ), when rhythmbox
is switched to fullscreen.

"Tools -> Plugins" is directly accessible as "Plugins" in the main menu.
If you enable "Python Console" plugin, the "Tools" menu will have that
entry though.
