[Bug 421506] Re: package ubuntu-docs 9.04.10 failed to install/upgrade: subprocess post-installation script returned error exit status 139
Changing to gnome-settings-daemon (as a hopeful guess), as the log shows it the last thing to (almost) be installed prior to the next two packages seg-faulting. ** Package changed: ubuntu-docs (Ubuntu) => gnome-settings-daemon (Ubuntu) -- package ubuntu-docs 9.04.10 failed to install/upgrade: subprocess post-installation script returned error exit status 139 https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/421506 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gnome-settings-daemon in ubuntu. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 391460] Re: pictures folder disappears along with desktop icons
Thanks for taking the time to report this bug and making Ubuntu better. This isn't a Documentation Team issue, so I've reassigned it to Nautilus (excuse me Nautilus guys if I've the wrong project - there are four pages of Nautilus!). ** Package changed: ubuntu-docs (Ubuntu) => nautilus (Ubuntu) -- pictures folder disappears along with desktop icons https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/391460 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to nautilus in ubuntu. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
[Bug 397670] Re: apt-get upgrade crashes repeatedly
Thanks for reporting this, from the logs it appears that you hit Ctrl+C while gnome-applets-data was being installed so I'm reassigning it to that package. You could attempt to install only the troublesome package: sudo apt-get install gnome-applets-data To check this package is actually stalling but I suspect it simply needed more time. ** Package changed: ubuntu-docs (Ubuntu) => gnome-applets (Ubuntu) -- apt-get upgrade crashes repeatedly https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/397670 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gnome-applets in ubuntu. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
[Bug 373988] Re: Unable to download the extras on the 'Playing DVDs' page
Removing duplicate and bringing in another package - leaving this as Incomplete in case there becomes a need to amend the documentation. ** Changed in: ubuntu-docs (Ubuntu) Status: Incomplete => In Progress ** Package changed: ubuntu-docs (Ubuntu) => gstreamer0.10 (Ubuntu) -- Unable to download the extras on the 'Playing DVDs' page https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/373988 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gstreamer0.10 in ubuntu. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 324935] Re: Not enough detailed instructions to start and operate Rhythmbox, musicBrainz or Sound Juicer. Many a time the instructions tell me what to do but does not tell me where to go to do it
Ted, I can appreciate your frustration. I just began reviewing this section and its extremely out of date. I've rewritten the current instructions for the music section with step by step instructions, having tried to carry out the functions in Rhythmbox. In fact, I just did importing music from CD's. If you are interested in helping with the documentation then you can follow the links duanedesign gave - the team communicates mainly by mailing list. A lot of work involves writing the material in a standard format that facilitates translation and integrates with both web and yelp (the help browser). If you feel you want to put forward guides in English then I'm sure one of us would be happy to rewrite them in DocBook for publication, you can contact me direct if you like. If you have only met one person who knows a little about Ubuntu then I can recommend http://ubuntuforums.org/ where there is a team dedicated to new users. ** Changed in: ubuntu-docs (Ubuntu) Assignee: (unassigned) => Dougie Richardson (dougierichardson) Status: New => In Progress -- Not enough detailed instructions to start and operate Rhythmbox, musicBrainz or Sound Juicer.
