[Bug 1900729] [NEW] gnome-terminal font settings show only italic version of ubuntu mono
Public bug reported: trying to change the font in gnome-terminal, only the italics version of the ubuntu mono font is shown, as can be seen in the attachment. on the other hand, when changing fonts in the appearance settings, i can see all variants of the ubuntu fonts... [Bug 1900729] Re: gnome-terminal font settings show only italic version of ubuntu mono
upstream has closed the issue on gnome-terminal, saying "gnome-terminal only shows fonts that are monospace, as reported by pango. So if this font doesn't show up correctly, it's a problem in the font (or pango), not gnome-terminal." i've poked the https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/pango/-/issues/483 issue -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gnome-terminal in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1900729 Title: gnome-terminal font settings show only italic version of ubuntu mono To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-terminal/+bug/1900729/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
[Bug 1900729] Re: gnome-terminal font settings show only italic version of ubuntu mono
this is just going in circles. i don't understand the details but it seems that: * it's quite ok to have a monospace filter built into the gnome-terminal font selector * this job is really delegated to the pango lib, which uses the first fc result to determine the spacing for the *whole* family * for the ubuntu font the first fc result isn't the regular type, which has the spacing property, but some other variant which doesn't have it last point hints at the urgency that this is fixed in the fonts themselves. it's a great pity one cannot enjoy the ubuntu font in the gnome-terminal in the latest ubuntu distros. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gnome-terminal in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1900729 Title: gnome-terminal font settings show only italic version of ubuntu mono To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-terminal/+bug/1900729/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 1688528] Re: gnome-terminal with screen interprets mouse wheel events as up/down
this is a huge headache for running vim in the gnome-terminal: the mouse scroll generates a sequence of key up or down strokes that are indistinguishable from the real keystrokes. having a very sensitive mouse scroller will inevitably produce unwanted scrolls to wrong place while, for instance, pasting the x11 buffer with the middle mouse button. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gnome-terminal in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1688528 Title: gnome-terminal with screen interprets mouse wheel events as up/down To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-terminal/+bug/1688528/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 1527147] [NEW] list of printers in print dialog jumps fast, hard to select a printer
Public bug reported: when opening a gtk print dialog (evince, firefox etc), the list of printers is jumping up and down when many printers are listed. i am not sure if this is related to cups reporting different number of printers each time asked or is this some kind of a list sorting problem in gnome when repeated sorting is not stable. the behavior is quite annoying since it is very hard to select a particular printer from such a list that changes so fast. the attachment illustrates the issue. [Bug 1006895] [NEW] size of side pane can not be set to less than 220 pixels
Public bug reported: in evince the side pane can not be set to smaller (but just larger). the minimum size of 220 pixels is quite large, especially when the side pane is switched into the "thumbnails" view, thumbs occupy less than 50% of width and the whole look is rather strange. imho, width of thumbnails should follow the width of the side pane and the side pane should be able to get minimal width much less than what's allowed now... kde's okular is much more like how the side pane should behave... i hope nobody will mind me saying it... ;) ProblemType: Bug DistroRelease: Ubuntu 12.04 Package: evince 3.4.0-0ubuntu1 ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 3.2.0-24.39-generic 3.2.16 Uname: Linux 3.2.0-24-generic x86_64 NonfreeKernelModules: nvidia ApportVersion: 2.0.1-0ubuntu8 Architecture: amd64 Date: Thu May 31 14:59:18 2012 InstallationMedia: Ubuntu 12.04 LTS "Precise Pangolin" - Release amd64 (20120425) KernLog: ProcEnviron: TERM=xterm PATH=(custom, user) LANG=en_US.UTF-8 SHELL=/bin/bash LC_PAPER=en_GB.UTF-8 SourcePackage: evince UpgradeStatus: No upgrade log present (probably fresh install) ** Affects: evince (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: amd64 apport-bug precise -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to evince in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1006895 Title: size of side pane can not be set to less than 220 pixels To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/evince/+bug/1006895/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 1169938] [NEW] mouse scroll does not work for volume in gnome-sound-applet when running in xfce
Public bug reported: gnome-sound-applet does not handle correctly the mouse scroll events (at least when running in xfce). the volume notification opens up but it maybe inches one notch ahead and then get's stuck there. actually, each time slider is manually opened by clicking on the laudspeaker icon, the scroll up produces only one single increment of volume. if the slider is closed and opened again, this can be repeated, again only for one notch...
