[Bug 783612] Re: Nautilus shows wrong file name in copy/move dialog
Hi, I'm unable to confirm this bug in Natty with the latest updates applied, because it seems to me the behavior has changed. These are the steps I took: 1.) Create a directory called 'test' 2.) Copy (by clicking and dragging while holding down Ctrl) a large file (in my case oneiric-desktop-i386.iso) to the directory 'test' 3.) Wait for oneiric-desktop-i386.iso to transfer over 4.) Select the copy of oneiric-desktop-i386.iso that isn't in 'test' and one other file (in my case ubuntu-11.04-server-amd64.iso) and copy by Ctrl+dragging them to 'test' 5.) Observe the 'File Conflict' dialog. This has correct info IMO ("Replace 'oneiric-desktop-i386.iso'?" and then gives the size of oneiric-desktop-i386.iso) 6.) Click the 'Skip' button 7.) Observe the file copy dialog. It says 'copying 2 files' and gives the progress in terms of the size of both files. It should only say it's copying 1 file and give the size of it, as the other file has been skipped. Some more info on this one - It seems the 'character limit' (though my feeling is the bug is based on the window width rather than characters) is about 1000. [Bug 799272] Re: Oneiric: Delete key not working as key to delete file
Seems like a bad solution to me. Sure they've gotten rid of a usability issue for those with slippy fingers (I have very slippy fingers and have never found this to be a problem, though not saying it isn't one), but they've created one even worse for those who got used to just pressing Delete (I would never have found this change if I didn't raise this bug) Wasn't the original bug about it not warning? Why not just have Delete on it's own warn and Ctrl+Delete do it immediately?
