Same problem here. With the first installation method for Xgl, this
issue disappear. So I think the problem is in the GDM config files...

[Bug 743252] [NEW] Empty printer list in gtk print dialog

2011-03-26 Thread Anakin Starkiller
Public bug reported:

On Ubuntu 10.04.2 (LTS) with every latest updates.

I've got no more printer showing up in the gtk print dialog (of evince,
chromium, and every other gtk applications that uses this backend I
guess).

OpenOffice print dialog does work as well as the one in Okular (KDE pdf
viewer), so it is not a CUPS related bug.

I thought it was related to the gtkrc theme, but I've got the same issue
with a new user.

Any idea ?

[Bug 156647] Re: Evince hangs on showing print dialog

2009-10-03 Thread Anakin Starkiller
So I've done some more testing. It appears that when I'm on same local network,
the hang only lasts for a few seconds (still annoying though). It freezes when
the computer with cups server is shutdown but not when the ipp printer is
switch off.
But on my laptop, when I connect somewhere else, and I want to print something
on another printer (a local one for example), juste because I have some IPP
printers in my printers list, it hangs completely...
