[Bug 2100475] Re: Whole display freezes in 1 second interval for a while

2025-03-15 Thread Jan Hák
This is Wayland session.
I have disabled the Dock from previous attempts, but then I just unplugged one
monitor (secondary) and rebooted the system. I did this on Sunday night and so
far no problems.
I am still in darkmode.

[Bug 2089709] Re: Ubuntu 24.04 (X11) sometimes logs in to a black screen with only an X cursor

2025-03-15 Thread bmaupin
I've been doing more methodical testing. The issue has happened with all
of my custom extensions deleted as well as d...@rastersoft.com, ubuntu-
d...@ubuntu.com, and tiling-assist...@ubuntu.com disabled, so I don't
think any of those are the cause.

The only extension I'm not sure about yet is ubuntu-
appindicat...@ubuntu.com. I'm still testing.

[Bug 2101107] Re: Display screen broken

2025-03-15 Thread Daniel van Vugt
Is this a laptop or a desktop? The monitors.xml.txt above is showing
only an HP 23xi monitor connected by HDMI, but at very low resolution
and refresh rate. So assuming that's the only screen you are using, most
likely it's a poor quality HDMI connection and I would recommend getting
a higher grade HDMI cable. After you reboot with a higher grade HDMI
cable it is likely that more screen resolution and refresh rate options
will be available.

Thanks for the response, Mr. Bacher.
Yes, it might be a "design decision", but it's a bad one.
I especially like the last comment in the link you sent:

What
is the point to have tabs in nautilus if when you see the properties
dialogue, all nautilus get block and you can't do nothing ?

This behaviour is really badThanks again,

Please make sure that's a Wayland session and you're not testing Xorg

*or* using a single monitor with Wayland.

[Bug 2102725] [NEW] File Manager File Properties Window "Anchored" to File Manager Window

2025-03-15 Thread Ray White
Public bug reported:

I am (still) running Ubuntu 20.04.6 LTS (per the adage that "If it ain't
broke, don't fix it.").

I have noticed that when I open the File Manager (Nautilus), and I click
on a file to get its properties, the "Properties" window is "tied
down"/anchored to the File Manager window containing it.

If I try to move the Properties window, the File Manager window moves
with it, and I can't click on another file. The Properties "sub-window"
has "hijacked" the File Manager window.

This is a problem, because to me, a common task within File Manager
would be to click on one file to get its properties, then click on
another file to compare the two files' properties.

Looks like https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/gimp/-/issues/7027 (which has
been reported by a macOS user, but it looks like this is not necessarily
platform-specific).

[Bug 2103060] [NEW] Gimp crashes on launch

2025-03-15 Thread Aaron
Public bug reported:

When I try to launch GIMP it crashes. This happens whether I launch it
from the menu, command line, with or without a file to open. It crashes
every time without fail.

It used to work fine on this computer and OS install so something
changed. My assumption is a library/dependency issue where GIMP was
updated, but the underlying library was not.

I have tried uninstalling GIMP fully and removing any cache/directory in
my home directory. Then after reinstalling it still crashes. Attached
below is the crash report:
