[Bug 2098547] Re: gnome-shell crashes and logs out when disconnecting USB-C cable and Ubuntu Dash is enabled

2025-03-06 Thread Daniel van Vugt
Same problem again:

Mar 05 09:16:18 u513b3c1e6b045d.ant..com gnome-shell[7082]: GNOME
Shell crashed with signal 11
Mar 05 09:16:18 u513b3c1e6b045d.ant..com gnome-shell[7082]: == Stack
trace for context 0x5be847401d40 ==
Mar 05 09:16:18 u513b3c1e6b045d.ant..com gnome-shell[7082]: #0
5be8474cd2b8 i   resource:///org/gnome/shell/ui/init.js:21 (36cac3d70bf0 @ 48)

That's not a useful Javascript stack trace because it's just the
entrypoint for the whole shell. So that means the crash wasn't actually
inside any other Javascript and it was in native C code.

We still need an error report on errors.ubuntu.com or a /var/crash
report to proceed here.

[Bug 2087831] Re: [SRU] Touchscreen gets disabled after resume from suspend in Xorg session

2025-03-06 Thread Nick Rosbrook
mutter 47.0-1ubuntu4.2 in oracular-proposed was abandoned because the
verification failed for this bug: https://launchpad.net/bugs/2069564.

So, I think in order for this bug fix to proceed for oracular, we need a
47.0-1ubuntu4.3 upload with the patch for 2069564 reverted, along with
the fix for this bug.

[Bug 2100965] Re: update manage doesn't reboot the system as requested

2025-03-06 Thread Nathan Teodosio
Update-manager tries to call

proxy_obj = bus.get_object(
"org.gnome.SessionManager", "/org/gnome/SessionManager"
)
iface = dbus.Interface(proxy_obj, "org.gnome.SessionManager")
iface.RequestReboot()

This call is failing with

  GDBus.Error:org.freedesktop.DBus.Error.UnknownMethod: Method
RequestReboot is not implemented on interface org.gnome.SessionManager
(19)

iface.Reboot() works though.
