[Bug 2093824] Re: fwupd crashed with SIGTRAP in g_wakeup_new()

2025-01-23 Thread Sebastien Bacher
As Alessandro pointed out the issue there is a system one where the
limit of files open is reached, could be any process leaking files
descriptors. Are you running any non standard or resources consuming
software?

[Bug 2093824] Re: fwupd crashed with SIGTRAP in g_wakeup_new()

2025-01-23 Thread Daniel van Vugt
I don't think it's just any process. The open file limit is per process
(ulimit -n), so it could be a descriptor leak elsewhere in fwupd.

[Bug 2096635] Re: Gimp is crashed while opening

2025-01-23 Thread HostMyCode
If GIMP crashes while opening, there could be several reasons behind it.
Here's a quick checklist to troubleshoot and resolve the issue:

Update GIMP: Make sure you are using the latest version of GIMP. Older versions
may have bugs that have been fixed in newer releases.
Check System Requirements: Ensure that your system meets the minimum
requirements for running GIMP.
Reset GIMP Configuration: Sometimes corrupt preferences can cause GIMP to
crash. You can reset GIMP's settings by deleting the configuration folder
(usually located in your user folder, e.g., ~/.config/GIMP on Linux or
%appdata%\GIMP on Windows).
Update Graphics Drivers: Ensure that your graphics card drivers are up to date,
as outdated drivers can sometimes cause issues with graphic software.
Run in Safe Mode: Start GIMP without any plugins or additional resources by
running it in safe mode, which can help identify whether a plugin or resource
is causing the crash.
Check for Software Conflicts: Disable any third-party software or plugins that
might be interfering with GIMP.
Reinstall GIMP: If none of the above work, try uninstalling and then
reinstalling GIMP.
If you need a reliable Web Hosting for your creative work or portfolio, you can
consider https://hostmycode.org/web-hosting/ for a seamless experience.

Hi,

If it helps, I noticed that the problem only occurs when using the
detailed view, in grid view there is no slowdown.

Hi,

I have unsubscribed sponsors as it seems that Ubuntu-specific fix for
the stable releases is not yet available.

Best Regards,
 Vladimir.
