[Bug 2089814] Re: Privacy & Security does not show screenshot permissions.
In which version of Ubuntu are you experiencing this bug? Are you using flameshot as a deb, snap, flatpak, or other? I found at least four issues when looking into this, in Ubuntu 24.10 with the flameshot deb: 1. Flameshot doesn't work when started from the application menu. 1.1. When starting flameshot form the terminal, xdg-desktop-portal cannot determine its app_id. 2. Without app_id the portal uses the empty string "" as app_id. That grants permissions to any other program that also does not expose an app_id. This is poorly comunicated in the dialog. 3. gnome-control-center implements a UI for permissions in the Apps page, but there's no entry for unidentified apps. 4. Even if the app was properly identified as org.flameshot.Flameshot, gnome-control-center only shows the Screenshot permission for snaps or flatpaks. This seems wrong, because all apps in Wayland must use the portal to take screenshots. ** Also affects: gnome-control-center (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Also affects: xdg-desktop-portal (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Also affects: flameshot (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags added: wayland ** Changed in: gnome-control-center (Ubuntu) Status: New => Triaged ** No longer affects: gnome-shell (Ubuntu) ** Changed in: xdg-desktop-portal (Ubuntu) Status: New => Triaged -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gnome-control-center in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/2089814 Title: Privacy & Security does not show screenshot permissions. We found out that the touchscreen is disabled by libinput after suspend/resume: Check the following properties (the touchscreen is id=10 for our DUT, see `xinput list`) before suspend: $ xinput list-props 10 Device 'CUST:00 0EEF:C003': [...snip...] libinput Send Events Mode Enabled (328):0, 0 after suspend: $ xinput list-props 10 Device 'CUST:00 0EEF:C003': [...snip...] libinput Send Events Mode Enabled (328):1, 0 According to libinput documentation https://wayland.freedesktop.org/libinput/doc/latest/configuration.html, Send Events Mode is used to turn on/off the device input in libinput. The touchscreen function can be re-enabled after suspend, by entering the following command: xinput set-prop 10 328 0 0 We are still unknown why the device is turned off after suspend. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to mutter in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/2087831 Title: touchscreen has no response after resume from suspend in Xorg session To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/oem-priority/+bug/2087831/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
[Bug 2077641] Re: Doesn't allow filtering all installed applications

Could this please be added to the test plan, under a new "Testing on jammy" section or similarly named, but with more details? Are the steps similar to the noble test plan, i.e., create a user and enable the restrictions? Or, in other words, what exactly is expected to work and how, in the jammy case, where there is no integration with gnome- control-center? ** Changed in: malcontent (Ubuntu Jammy) Status: New => Incomplete -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to malcontent in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/2077641 Title: Doesn't allow filtering all installed applications To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/malcontent/+bug/2077641/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
