[Bug 2045563] Re: gnome-control-panel crashes on start with SIGABRT

2023-12-05 Thread Lubor
```
gsettings get org.gnome.Settings last-panel
Schéma „org.gnome.Settings“ neexistuje (Scheme „org.gnome.Settings“ do not
exists)
```

But today - after several reboots - .gnome-control-center opens on Printer
panel and works... Maybe something with samba network printer because my domain
password changed...
Anyway, the problem doesn't occur now.

[Bug 2045632] Re: gnome-shell libmozjs g_closure_unref: assertion closure->ref_count > 0 failed

2023-12-05 Thread Daniel van Vugt
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make
Ubuntu better. It sounds like some part of the system has crashed. To
help us find the cause of the crash please follow these steps:

1. Run these commands:
journalctl -b0 > journal.txt
journalctl -b-1 > prevjournal.txt
and attach the resulting text files here.

2. Look in /var/crash for crash files and if found run:
ubuntu-bug YOURFILE.crash
Then tell us the ID of the newly-created bug.

3. If step 2 failed then look at https://errors.ubuntu.com/user/ID where
ID is the content of file /var/lib/whoopsie/whoopsie-id on the machine.
Do you find any links to recent problems on that page? If so then please
send the links to us.

Please take care to avoid attaching .crash files to bugs as we are
unable to process them as file attachments. It would also be a security
risk for yourself.

I don't see any crashes in the top 100 gnome-shell crashes of 23.10 that
would match that so please check to see if it's caused by a local
extension. To do that please run:

  cd ~/.local/share/gnome-shell/
  rm -rf extensions

and then log in again.

[Bug 2023322] Re: GTK internal browser does not render with Nvidia drivers

2023-12-05 Thread Jeremy Bícha
We believe the original bug is fixed in webkit2gtk 2.42.2 and higher on
Ubuntu 22.04 LTS and newer with disable-dmabuf-nvidia.patch

My understanding is that Ubuntu's Nvidia drivers include libnvidia-egl-
gbm1 but Debian's drivers do not so that shouldn't be an issue.

If you are still experiencing an issue, please file a new bug. You can
use a command like this:

ubuntu-bug libwebkit2gtk-4.0-37

[Bug 2045667] [NEW] Update gnome-shell to 45.2

2023-12-05 Thread Jeremy Bícha
Public bug reported:

Impact
--
There is a new bugfix release in the stable 45 series.

https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/gnome-shell/-/blob/45.2/NEWS

Test Case
-
Complete all the non-optional test cases at
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/DesktopTeam/TestPlans/GNOMEShell

What Could Go Wrong
---
GNOME Shell is the heart of the Ubuntu desktop experience.

A severe enough bug could mean that people are unable to use their
desktop version of Ubuntu.

Smaller bugs could interrupt people's workflows.

GNOME Shell is included in the GNOME micro release exception

https://wiki.ubuntu.com/StableReleaseUpdates/GNOME

Other Info
--
gnome-shell provides the GNOME version number for the Settings app About page,
as of Ubuntu 22.10 (in earlier Ubuntu releases, this was provided by
gnome-desktop/gnome-desktop3)

I have tested this and because of age will mark it as fixed.

Test machine(s):

* Remote in London.

* Debian unstable VM server running samba.

Connecting to remote and downloading files to samba server at:

/run/user/1000/gvfs/

[Bug 1961508] Re: Dock displaying over window after resuming from blank screen

2023-12-05 Thread popov895
My "workaround" for this is to switch to an empty workspace before
locking the screen :)

[Bug 2045699] [NEW] Update gjs to 1.78.1

2023-12-05 Thread Jeremy Bícha
Public bug reported:

[ Impact ]
There is a new bugfix release in the stable series associated with GNOME 45

https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/gjs/-/blob/1.78.1/NEWS

[ Test case ]
Complete the test cases from
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/DesktopTeam/TestPlans/gjs

The update is part of GNOME stable updates
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/StableReleaseUpdates/GNOME

Gjs applications (such as GNOME Maps, GNOME Characters, GNOME
Weather...) and GNOME Shell and its components and extensions should
continue working.

[ Regression potential ]
GNOME Shell is the heart of the Ubuntu desktop experience. gjs is a key
component of GNOME Shell.

A severe enough bug could mean that people are unable to use their
desktop version of Ubuntu (it is used by even GDM, the login screen).

Smaller bugs could interrupt people's workflows.

** Affects: gjs (Ubuntu)
 Importance: Medium
 Status: Fix Committed

[Bug 2023322] Re: GTK internal browser does not render with Nvidia drivers

2023-12-05 Thread Daniel van Vugt
That comment was sparked by duplicate bug 2041664 on jammy. Either it's
not really a duplicate or not a sufficiently new enough revision of 2.42
to contain the fix.
