[Bug 2034763] Re: Flatpak applications ignore appearance settings with glib2.0 2.77.3 and xdg-desktop-portal 1.17.2
The issue comes from the new xdg-desktop-portal, see https://github.com/flatpak/xdg-desktop-portal/pull/1082 for details The new configuration system gives more flexibility to the desktop environment to select the portal variants that should be used but it might require tweaks from those desktop environments The GNOME configuration which fixes the issue was added in https://salsa.debian.org/gnome-team/gnome-session/-/commit/b201c9c4 which is including in the gnome-session version uploaded to Ubuntu yesterday -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to glib2.0 in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/2034763 Title: Flatpak applications ignore appearance settings with glib2.0 2.77.3 and xdg-desktop-portal 1.17.2 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/glib2.0/+bug/2034763/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 2034942] [NEW] Hanging every time I attempt to add a Google account in GNOME control center
Public bug reported: I've tried about 15 times in a row now to add a Google account in GNOME control center, and every time it has hung at some point in the process before letting me enter my password. Sometimes it hangs before it even asks for my Google username. Sometimes it hangs right after it accepts my username, before displaying the password prompt. Sometimes it displays the password prompt but hangs before I am able to enter my password. Sometimes when it hangs I see the message "GLib: unsetenv() is not thread-safe and should not be used after threads are created" in journalctl --user --follow output. [Bug 2034722] Re: High CPU usage causing slowdown
Yep I somehow had that set in my /etc/environment (don't ever remember setting it though). I removed it and rebooted and performance has gotten slightly better but now the logs are being spammed with "Meta.Rectangle is deprecated, use Mtk.Rectangle instead" from the bug you linked. Gnome-shell's CPU usage doesn't get as high as previously, it now ends up getting to around 50±% but is accompanied by a spike in systemd- journald so I guess that points to the log spam causing the slowdown on my machine. The spikes mainly occur when going into the overview and switching workspaces. I expect lower end/older systems would feel this the most, with newer systems not noticing any significant slowdown on the desktop. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gnome-shell in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/2034722 Title: High CPU usage causing slowdown To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-shell/+bug/2034722/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
