[Bug 1965505] [NEW] Changing the position of the dock moves applications to first workspace
Public bug reported: I have a two monitor set-up with four workspaces on the primary display and an additional workspace on the secondary display. I normally have an application running in each workspace. If I open Settings | Dock | Position on screen and change the setting from 'Left' to 'Bottom' I find that the applications on workspaces 3 and 4 move to workspace 1. [Bug 1965507] [NEW] [jammy] New GS 42 colors management leaves GNOME session incomplete
Public bug reported: Hi, Playing with new GS colors... Thanks for that moment. Well, that new feature is cool in Ubuntu session. But in GNOME session, you do not have any Appearance tab in g-c-c. In a GNOME session, you can change colors back through Tweaks, anyway, after have set them in an Ubuntu session. But I did not find how to change the Shell light/dark variant (without dconf). So I get "this wallpaper will only apply for the light style" under the wallpaper's image in corresponding g-c-c, but I cannot change the Shell style. [Bug 1965505] Re: Changing the position of the dock moves applications to first workspace
No, the applications once moved can be used normally. Strangely, I'm now seeing the apps on workspaces 3 and 4 move to the secondary display even though the primary display was the last used and after continued changing of the dock position (including moving it to the right) the application on workspace 2 moved to workspace 1 which it hadn't done so before. So all applications were either on workspace 1 (primary) or the secondary display. There are clearly other problems which may or may not be related. After continued changing of the dock position: the icon size reduced to 16 (was 32) and once an application has moved the titlebar doesn't always respond to the first mouse click. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gnome-shell in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1965505 Title: Changing the position of the dock moves applications to first workspace To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-shell/+bug/1965505/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

It appears my work in progress avoids the crash nicely: https://gitlab.gnome.org/vanvugt/mutter/-/commits/fall-back-from- secondary-gpu Although it's slow -- it works by avoiding Nvidia GBM when the driver refuses to work in a hybrid setup, and just uses Nvidia KMS to scan out dumb buffers rendered by the primary GPU instead... but it appears that's still faster than using Xorg!? -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to mutter in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1964037 Title: gnome-shell crashes when attempting to enable second monitor on second GPU (Nvidia >= 495) in a Wayland session To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/mutter/+bug/1964037/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 1965505] Re: Changing the position of the dock moves applications to first workspace
The secondary display is actually my laptop's internal monitor, the primary display is an external monitor. [Bug 1964442] Re: [jammy Regression] signing a changes file in gnome-terminal sends keys to the terminal
I experienced a similar issue today. I ran `snap install app` in my terminal. It popped up a PolicyKit login window and my terminal started filling with empty input lines. Around the same time, I had this in my journal log repeatedly: gnome-shell: Object 0x5614373df110 of type IBusText has been finalized while it was still owned by gjs, this is due to invalid memory management. Therefore, I'm reassigning to gnome-shell and ibus. I don't think this issue is specific to gnome-terminal. You might eventually see it with a different terminal. I am using the default Ubuntu session on Wayland. ** Package changed: gnome-terminal (Ubuntu) => gnome-shell (Ubuntu) ** Changed in: gnome-shell (Ubuntu) Status: Incomplete => Confirmed ** Also affects: ibus (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Changed in: ibus (Ubuntu) Status: New => Confirmed -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gnome-terminal in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1964442 Title: [jammy Regression] signing a changes file in gnome-terminal sends keys to the terminal To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-shell/+bug/1964442/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 1964732] Re: [FFe] Include Desktop Icons Appearance Settings
** Description changed: In Jammy the default desktop extension is providing lots settings in a poorly integrated way, accessible from right-click: https://i.imgur.com/boMhCrH.png We got a community contribution - (https://gitlab.gnome.org/Community/Ubuntu/gnome-conyol- + (https://gitlab.gnome.org/Community/Ubuntu/gnome-control- center/-/merge_requests/9) to move the most relevant (for ubuntu) settings into the ubuntu "appearance" panel in gnome-control-center so that we can explicitly only support a restricted number of options that we care about, while all the rest can be tuned when using the ding options manually or tools such as d-conf editor. The appearance options will include these new widgets: https://i.imgur.com/Cup75om.png (wording to be improved before UIF) This is the code involved: - https://salsa.debian.org/gnome-team/gnome-control-center/-/commit/3f7c10501b1ac28311dd9edb64e64bfbbcd67204 Plus we need to change DING code to call `gnome-settings-daemon ubuntu` on desktop context menu. Not sure this is fully a FFe request, given that from the global desktop point of view we want actually support less features. --- It would be nice to be able to upload the update before UIF, so that we don't require further exception steps. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gnome-control-center in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1964732 Title: [FFe] Include Desktop Icons Appearance Settings To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-control-center/+bug/1964732/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
