[Bug 1917066] Re: windows and popups in gnome become unresponsive
Thanks for the bug report. Since most bugs of this nature are caused by extensions, the first thing to do is to check for and uninstall/disable all non-Ubuntu extensions you have enabled. At a minimum: 1. Disable all extensions in the 'Extensions' app; and 2. Look in ~/.local/share/gnome-shell/ and if you find a directory called 'extensions' then delete it. 3. Reboot and tell us if the problem happens again. 4. If the problem does happen again then please run this command to collect more system info: apport-collect 1917066 ** Tags removed: apport-bug ** Package changed: gnome-session (Ubuntu) => gnome-shell (Ubuntu) ** Changed in: gnome-shell (Ubuntu) Status: New => Incomplete -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gnome-session in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1917066 Title: windows and popups in gnome become unresponsive To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-shell/+bug/1917066/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 1917629] [NEW] Nautilus doesn't work correctly for touch screens
Public bug reported: This error is not caused by additional software, it occurs in the file manager even before installing ubuntu in trial mode. These are black pop-ups that block subsequent input of commands, and that remain on the screen for too long. These windows are descriptions of functions or folders, for example: Downloads (window: "/home/user/Downloads"). The window (/home/user/Downloads) remains on the screen even when you touch to any other area of the screen. In addition, you need to click on the folders several times to open them and this happens randomly, sometimes just one touch is enough to open any of the folders, but most often three or four times. And so, it can't be used correctly on my device. [Bug 1917175] Re: gdm login screen says "Something went wrong please try again" three times and sends me back to the login screen when I'm not typing anything
I don't understand why you are asking me for a crash report. You don't need a crash report to know what is going on here. I described to you exactly what is going on and exactly how to reproduce the issue: gdm fails in the way I described if libpam-fprintd isn't installed, and the web of dependencies of packages in Hirsute allowed an upgrade to uninstall fprintd-clients but did not require libpam-fprintd to be installed in its place. It appears that perhaps a dependency to libpam-fprintd was added to the gdm3 package after I filed this issue, because I see that it has such a dependency now, and I don't see how I could have done the update before with that dependency in place without libpam-fprintd being installed during the update. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gdm3 in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1917175 Title: gdm login screen says "Something went wrong please try again" three times and sends me back to the login screen when I'm not typing anything To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gdm3/+bug/1917175/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 1917674] [NEW] Freeze when resuming from automatic suspension to RAM
Public bug reported: Automatic suspension causes the system to freeze on resume. This doesn't happen if I suspend it manually by opening the system menu and pressing the suspend button. Suspension works flawlessly when it is triggered manually. When the system resumes from automatic suspension, the lock screen is visible but does not respond. It's frozen. A notification says something like "system will suspend shortly due to inactivity". It never goes away. The keyboard responds during this (at least for a while). The CAPS LOCK LED turns on and off as I press it (with no delay). Sometimes I can even switch to another TTY and kill the X server, which is why I'm reporting it against gnome-shell. When switching TTY is impossible, I use the "REISUB" combination to shut down. Either way, I always lose the running session. This is reproducible about 60% of the time. Eventually I ended up disabling it and relying only on manual suspension. # Additional information: 1) Ubuntu 20.04.2 LTS / Release: 20.04 2) gnome-shell 3.36.4-1ubuntu1~20.04.2 ProblemType: Bug DistroRelease: Ubuntu 20.04 Package: gnome-shell 3.36.4-1ubuntu1~20.04.2 ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 5.8.0-44.50~20.04.1-generic 5.8.18 Uname: Linux 5.8.0-44-generic x86_64 ApportVersion: 2.20.11-0ubuntu27.16 Architecture: amd64 CasperMD5CheckResult: skip CurrentDesktop: ubuntu:GNOME Date: Wed Mar 3 16:56:01 2021 DisplayManager: gdm3 InstallationDate: Installed on 2021-01-31 (31 days ago) InstallationMedia: Ubuntu 20.04.1 LTS "Focal Fossa" - Release amd64 (20200731) RelatedPackageVersions: mutter-common 3.36.7+git20201123-0.20.04.1 SourcePackage: gnome-shell UpgradeStatus: No upgrade log present (probably fresh install) ** Affects: gnome-shell (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: amd64 apport-bug focal ** Description changed: Automatic suspension causes the system to freeze on resume. I didn't realize Ubuntu had switched to gnome-shell-extension-desktop- icons-ng while I was away, but it's disabled by default after upgrades. So yes "Open in Terminal" does exist there. Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. It sounds like some part of the system has crashed. If step 1 failed then look at https://errors.ubuntu.com/user/ID where ID is the content of file /var/lib/whoopsie/whoopsie-id on the machine. Do you find any links to recent problems on that page? [Bug 1917175] Re: gdm login screen says "Something went wrong please try again" three times and sends me back to the login screen when I'm not typing anything
