[Bug 1586661] Re: gnome-terminal transparent in wrong place when selected

2016-07-31 Thread Nikita Yerenkov-Scott
Strangely enough when I launched gnome-terminal this morning the issue
appeared to be gone, still seems so, it is possible that it has been
like that since yesterday or the day before and I just didn't notice.
Was there an update which could have fixed this issue? If not, then
probably it's only been since today that it works as it should, but I
will keep an eye on it and let you know if it returns.

[Bug 1152226] Re: nautilus no longer remembers view per directory

So in Xenial Nautilus remembers some of its view settings but
unfortunately not all.

Canonical already patches this particular program so could we finally
get what is considered by most a sane and expected behaviour of every
file manager in the universe.

[Bug 1602035] Re: Maps app no longer works because MapQuest disabled access

2016-07-31 Thread Robert Ancell
** Description changed:

  As of today, MapQuest has disabled their free map tile feed. This means
  the Maps app no longer displays anything except a warning pointing to

  http://devblog.mapquest.com/2016/06/15/modernization-of-mapquest-
  results-in-changes-to-open-tile-access/

  Screenshot attached.

  [Impact]
  GNOME Maps is included by default in Ubuntu GNOME 15.10 and 16.04. The app
currently is useless.

  Triaged as "High" because it "prevents the application or any
  dependencies from functioning correctly at all".
  https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Bugs/Importance

  This also breaks libchamplain (a library for embedding maps into your
  app). Once a fix is released, apps using libchamplain will likely need
  to be patched to use a different map provider.

  [Test Case]
  Install gnome-maps. Open the Maps app. Do you see maps?

  Note that maps are cached so you may not notice the feed has been
  disabled unless you try viewing a specific area at a close enough zoom
  that you have not viewed recently.

  [Regression Potential]
- No Stable Release Update is ready yet for this issue.
+ Upstream changes to switch to Mapbox has potential to break unrelated
features.

  list/2016-July/msg3.html

[Bug 1608308] [NEW] Adapt to mapquest discontinuing free service

2016-07-31 Thread Jeremy Bicha
Public bug reported:

As of July 11, MapQuest has disabled their free map tile feed. This
means that apps using CHAMPLAIN_MAP_SOURCE_OSM_MAPQUEST no longer
display anything except a warning pointing to

http://devblog.mapquest.com/2016/06/15/modernization-of-mapquest-
results-in-changes-to-open-tile-access/

Screenshot of the GNOME Maps app attached.

This was originally reported as bug 1602035 but that bug report is kind
of full and the solution for gnome-maps (Mapbox donated one year of
service) may not be transferable to other apps.

Here's a list of possibly affected apps:

$ reverse-depends src:libchamplain

* empathy   (for libchamplain-0.12-0)
* eog-plugins   (for libchamplain-0.12-0)
* fotoxx(for libchamplain-0.12-0)

* libabiword-3.0(for libchamplain-0.12-0)
* libevolution  (for libchamplain-0.12-0)
* openstreetmap-client  (for gir1.2-champlain-0.12)
