[Bug 1389569] [NEW] Empathy Google password field too short

2014-11-05 Thread Michael Hartl
Public bug reported:

I try to connect empathy to my Google account. In the "Edit Connetion
Parameters..." dialog box I can enter a password of length up to 13
characters. My Google password is 30 characters long
(http://xkcd.com/936/), however, so this is not a limit enforced by
Google.

For my Facebook account I can also enter a longer password, and I did
not test any other account types, but my guess is that there may be
similar problems.

[Bug 1271591] Re: upstart job race prevents gnome-keyring from being ssh agent

2014-11-05 Thread Vincent Cautaerts
I have a problem similar to the one of 'agnul' since yesterday's update
in ubuntu 14.04 (this update included gnome-keyring 3.10.1-1ubuntu4.1)

When I start a gnome-terminal with alt+F2, the environment is OK
(SSH_AUTH_SOCK set)

When I start a terminal using a keyboard shortcut, the env is OK too.

When I start a terminal from the launch menu, the env is OK too.

But when I start it from a ".desktop" file, I don't get the
SSH_AUTH_SOCK variable. It was working OK until yesterday's update.

[Bug 500947] Re: Brasero won't burn Dvd

2014-11-05 Thread Thomas Schmitt
Dani, your problem is not related to this old Brasero bug.
You experience problems between drive and medium after
Brasero, libburn, and the drive all accepted the medium
as suitable for writing. The drive performed two WRITE
commands before it complained about the outcome of the
third one.

Further, this bug was reported for an older version of
Brasero, which used wodim and dvd+rw-tools as burn
backends. Your Brasero uses libburn. But this difference
is not supposed to make a difference in the relation
of your drive and your medium. (What kind of DVD is it,
btw ?)

[Bug 1389638] [NEW] Evolution forgets ssl cert password

2014-11-05 Thread Paul Carmichael
Public bug reported:

Ubuntu 14.04
evolution 3.10.4-0ubuntu2

Each day, the first time I send an email (ssl on by default) I get asked
for the ssl cert password. It is then remembered for the rest of that
session/day.

This bug has just appeared with the upgrade to 14.04. I was never asked

Is the bug Evolution or Keyring? I have no idea. But I don't get asked

[Bug 500947] Re: Brasero won't burn Dvd

2014-11-05 Thread Thomas Schmitt
This narrows the set to: DVD-R, DVD-RW, DVD+R, DVD+RW.
(DVD-RAM and DVD+R DL have significantly different sizes.)

You should try a different brand of media. Best a different
type. E.g. try DVD+R if the failing ones are DVD-R.
If all reachable kinds of DVD fail, then consider to exchange
the drive.

[Bug 1387708] Re: [TOPBLOCKER] Location services not getting location

2014-11-05 Thread Ondrej Kubik
Some breakthrough:
Problem is caused by corrupted nvram data, when gps stack fails to identify
underlying hw and therefore does not know how to function.
Underlying hw info is stored in /userdata/android-data/misc/GPS_CHIP.cfg, which
is empty on broken phones, it should have text with chipset name.
Empty file is consequence of corrupted nvram file.
I have seen this one already during gps bring up, which was done on PVT phone,
so nvram there was formatted several time, but now have this on production hw,
so we need to investigate this further.
This bug should be moved to barajas project, since location service is just
place where it pops out.

Two issues should be addressed:
1) when gps interface is started, start function never returns. Even if gps
stack fails to initialise, it should at least return. Or in other case location
service needs to initialise providers asynchronously to prevent one misbehaving
provider taking whole service down. Ideally both should be done, with priority
on gps stack always returning from start. Thomas any opinion here?

2) this is real problem and solution, we need to identify what is
corrupting nvram data during OTA

[Bug 1271591] Re: upstart job race prevents gnome-keyring from being ssh agent

2014-11-05 Thread Forest
Based on the behavior I've observed, I think it's possible that there
are two bugs in play here, and fixing one has revealed the other one.

I'm running Xubuntu 14.04.

Before this update, starting my terminal from the applications menu
yielded a shell with SSH_AUTH_SOCK correctly pointing at gnome-keyring,
while starting my terminal from a folder in Thunar file manager yielded
a shell with SSH_AUTH_SOCK incorrectly pointing at an ssh-agent
instance. The latter didn't work because I only have my ssh key loaded
into gnome-keyring.

After the update, starting my terminal from the applications menu yields
a shell with SSH_AUTH_SOCK correctly pointing at gnome-keyring, while
starting my terminal from a folder in Thunar file manager yields a shell
with SSH_AUTH_SOCK not set at all.

I haven't read the recently released patch yet, so I don't know what
it's supposed to do, but it sure looks like it got rid of the ssh-agent
instance that I thought I had disabled long ago (great!). That still
leaves the problem of why SSH_AUTH_SOCK isn't propagating into my
terminal when launched from my file manager.

2014-11-05 Thread Egmont Koblinger
Great, thanks!

While we're at it, could you please make sure to upgrade to vte-0.36.3
and gnome-terminal-3.12.3?

Both contain important bugfixes, especially gnome-terminal-3.12.3 fixes
a nasty crash that happens relatively often.

We're talking about minor version numbers here, it should be as easy as
bumping the version number.

0x6582%s from /userdata/android-data/misc/GPS_CHIP.cfg is correct value.
6582 represents mtk platform m6582.
When nvram gets corrupted GPS_CHIP.cfg is empty, as gps stack was not able to
determine underlying platform.
So this seems to be different issue what you are seeing Rick.

[Bug 1240336] Re: Not authorized to perform operation / Unable to determine the session we are in: No session for pid

2014-11-05 Thread Rob Dean
I'm having this problem on upgrade to Utopic (Kubuntu system) - ie
unable to mount USB, clicking shutdown gets me to the login screen. I've
tried appending

session required pam_loginuid.so
session required pam_systemd.so

to /etc/pam.d/lightdm and rebooting but didn't fix the problem. Anyone
have any other suggestions?

[Bug 1386246] [NEW] "List Mode" in file-roller appmenu cannot click and appmenu is redundant and useless

2014-11-05 Thread Launchpad Bug Tracker
You have been subscribed to a public bug:

Since 14.04, file-roller begin to show two menu in xfce/lxde/mate and so
on.

Although two menu make in a line in Unity global menu, but all items in
"Archive Manager" can also be found in other menu item, in the
meanwhile, "List Mode" menu item can't click which is alsa strange,
which seems strange to user.

Is this "Archive Manager" menu very useful instead of make things worse?
I think not to show it will make it better for other desktop
environment, since it's not hard to hide it.

I try myself to hide menu in "src/ui/app-menu.ui" and it works well and
looks better:
