[Bug 1371885] [NEW] nautilus crashed with SIGSEGV in ffi_call_unix64()

2014-09-20 Thread Per-Inge
Public bug reported:

Right clicked a video in Nautilus. Selected to play with Totem.
The video is stored on my NAS.
Before that, looked at the file properties. The Audio/Video tab in 14.10 is
different compared to 14.04. In 14.10 the Basic tab shows type: Matroska
video, but the Audio/Video tab shows Unknown and 0 seconds.
In 14.04 the Audio/Video tab shows the correct values.

[Bug 1368647] Re: GPS and location detection not working on Nexus 4

2014-09-20 Thread Tomas Öqvist
I have switched to rtm r1 single-boot and got location working in
OSMTouch, Google maps and a weather site on the web. The accuracy
indicated that the GPS was involved. But after a reboot, the location no
longer works for me. Will see if it gets going again if I wait. It sure
feels strange though, that it should suddenly stop working after a
reboot.

[Bug 406373] Re: rhythmbox crashed with SIGSEGV in rb_encoder_encode()

2014-09-20 Thread markling
This bug appears to have been fixed!

It seems so.

I installed Rhythbox the other day, completely on the off-chance because
I had got fed up with being unable to update my ipod. And it worked! I
just did it again too!

This is brilliant. Linux is brilliant. We are really not worthy of such
greatness, us miserable ungrateful, scrounging users. What have we done
to deserve such gifts? I am sorry for ever doubting linux. I am sorry
for every foul word.

I just wish I had consulted a clairvoyant months ago, because I might
have discerned sooner that the bug had been fixed and it was possible to
update my ipod again.

Don't mind us, we'll just talk amongst ourselves.

[Bug 1348384] Re: evince and okular do not render eps files correctly resulting in a black background

2014-09-20 Thread EdouardC
Hi all,

I'm happy to discover that this bug is registrated here. I tried many
times early in july to find some information on the web about this
problem, but I always failed.

In my case (ubuntu-14.04, 64 bits), I discovered and identified this bug
at the end of june.

It appears that it affects only the EPS files which doesn't contain the
'showpage' postscript command at the end of the file. Indeed, a work-
around of this bug is to add the 'showpage' command at the end of the
EPS file.

So, the good new is that a workaround exists and is pretty easy to do:
you can use any text editor to modify an EPS file!

Not all the EPS files are affected: for example the EPS files created
with the Matlab software already include a 'showpage' at the end, so
they are not affected by this bug.

It is worth noting that EPS files which doesn't contain the 'showpage' command
at their end are valid. Don't answer that these EPS are not valid! The
'showpage' command is used to eject the page and it is mandatory in PS files,
not EPS files. Please for example the discussion in:
   http://bugs.launchpad.net/inkscape/+bug/929463
which contain the following extract of the official Adobe documentation:

Redefine showpage

The showpage operator is permitted in EPS files because it is present in so
many PostScript language files. Therefore, it is reasonable for an EPS file
to use the showpage operator, although it is not necessary if the EPS file
will only be imported into another document. The application importing the
EPS file is responsible for redefining showpage. showpage may be redefined
using the following code segment:

/showpage { } def

Cheers,
EC

7. click Create
8. transfer to user with Windows 7 SP1 32-bit or 64-bit or Windows 8.1 64-bit
9. in Windows open zip file
10. attempt to open file in archive, error message Title:"Compressed (zipped)
Folders Error", Text:"Windows cannot complete the extraction.\n\nThe
destination file could not be created." is displayed

expected result
1. on Windows open zip file
2. attempt to open encrypted file
3. get prompt for password
4. enter password
5. file opens

NOTE1: this used to work
NOTE2: if the file is compressed with zip instead of file-roller it can be
opened as expected on Windows platforms

The attachment contains two files. One archive compressed/encrypted with
file-roller, named file-roller_fail.zip, and the other
compressed/encrypted with zip, named zip_success.zip.

Both zip files have the same text file for content, demo.txt

Password abcd123 used for both methods.

2014-09-20 Thread Max Kueng
Can confirm on Ubuntu, Arch and Manjaro. Happens with both gnome-
terminal and terminator. It's been happening for quite some time (~ 2
years). I'm running awesome inside gnome-session.

2014-09-20 Thread Launchpad Bug Tracker
You have been subscribed to a public bug:

The package python-evolution was part of Ubuntu 12.04, but somehow not
in 14.04. Can this be changed?

I need this package to run gbirthday
(sourceforge.net/projects/gbirthday/?source=navbar)

Thanks!
