Hi,

The mouse "pointer speed" setting on my ubuntu desktop is from
"blazingly fast" to fast. When set to fast speed, i cant even see the
pointer.  I am sure this is a problem for a lot of other users who like
to to use the mouse at a lower speed.

i realize that the speed maybe hardware dependant but i kind of like my
current hardware. i am using a logitech wireless mouse + keyboard combo.

Please provide a way to slow down mouse more

Some ARM board uses GPIO gpio_key.12 for power control (key=116). The
proposed patch adds entry to logind's 70-power-switch.rules to initiate
soft shutdown of the cartridge from ilo.

Here is the udevadm output for /dev/input/event0

Udevadm info starts with the device specified by the devpath and then
walks up the chain of parent devices. It prints for every device
found, all possible attributes in the udev rules key format.

Regarding the possibility of gpio_key.12 being used by other systems to
map to some other trigger, I put in the check that the gpio_key.12 is
associated with power control (keys=116). '116' is supposedly linux
generic power control in DTS. There is no uniq idSystem or idVendor for
device /dev/input/event0 as you can see from udevadm output, therefore I
tried to use the best available combination as a safety check. This
patch will enable power control for any system vendor (Other than the
one the patch in intended for) that describes in DTS, the trigger
gpio_key.12 as power control (116).

I do not think the KDE linked bugs are relevant:
 * They describe other function that crash, instead of 
gtk_tree_view_get_background_area+0x8a
 * The KDE bug report say that the problem is fixed (half a year ago) and I 
still have the same problem

Also adding "gtk-enable-animations=0" to $HOME/.grkrc-2.0 does not seem
to solve the crashes (at least for me)


Choosing another GTK theme seems to 'fix' (more like 'circumvent' probably) the 
problem. I use the following to start Eclipse:

$ GTK2_RC_FILES=/usr/share/themes/Raleigh/gt-2.0/gtkrc eclipse

Hello.

I run ubuntu 14.04 "upgraded" from 13.10, so not a total fresh install.

Rhythmbox plays mp3 with no problem but when I try to rip audio CD to
mp3 it asks for "MPEG-1 Layer 3 (MP3) encoder".

It searches it for a while and then say it was unable to find the plugin
- something related to gstreamer.

On this pc Asunder, Banshee or Audacity work as expected when ripping
audio CD to mp3.

[Bug 1348257] [NEW] Gnome terminal overlay scrollbar dissapears when changing tabs

How to reproduce:
- Type in some commands, so that terminal area displays a scrollbar
- Open a new tab
- Go back to the first tab - scrollbar has dissapeared

Actually, the scrollbar seems to be still there, but there is no visual
cue that the window is scrollable. Sometimes scrollbar changes color to
a grey color (maybe it's a gtk themeing issue?).

Is this intentional behavior, because it works as intended when
scrollbar is on the left side? I think many people running batch jobs
LIKE to have some kind of visual confirmation that the terminal can be
scrolled (i use scrollbar as sort of progressbar, so i would like if it
doesn't dissapear).

It may be related to the bug you've mentioned but here I dont' have any
problem with ripping CD to Ogg.

Only dealing with mp3 seems to fail.

Well ripping to ogg causes at least one problem :

what so ever the settings I choose, ogg files end with 112kbps.

Several eps files, which previously rendered correctly, are not rendered
correctly by evince and okular.  It looks as though something is wrong
with the "transparency" setting, since most of the incorrectly-rendered
files have a black background, but the figure can somewhat be made out
on top of hte black background.  The PDF files I have tested are NOT
affected.  EPS files that were previously viewable correctly ARE
affected.

This crash appears to be happening when disconnecting an iphone (or
other idevice). The stack trace show it trying to create a new pairing
which fails (presumably since the idevice is now  unplugged).

[Bug 1348473] [NEW] when printing if I selet custom pages the print order is wrong

Public bug reported:

I have hp 1515 printer. for example I have a document includes 10 pages.
When I select 5 6 7 pages to print I expect first it prints 7. page and
5. last. But it prints 5. page first and 7. page last. It is wrong
because everytime I have to order papers by hand again.

[Bug 1348363] [NEW] Fault trying to mount internal HDD at startup

You have been subscribed to a public bug:

Ubuntu 14.04 (from Question #251754).

I want to mount my internal HDD at at startup (I boot from an SSD). I
attempt to set this, following this procedure:

1. Open Disks utility
2. Select the disk
3. Below the disk's Volumes, click on the More actions button
4. Select Edit Mount Options...
5. Select Automatic Mount Options "Off"
6. Under Mount Options, ensure that Mount at startup is selected
7. Click OK
8. Enter password into Authenticate dialog box
9. Restart

but this procedure doesn't work. Upon rebooting, and after Grub attempts
to start Ubuntu, I receive the error message "An error occurred while
mounting /mnt/4f721fc0-8072-453f-b48f-ca686bd89549. Press S to skip
mounting or M for manual recovery".

I press S and the boot process continues OK. If I try to mount the disk
immediately after booting, I receive the error message "Unable to access
"Storage"".

So then I start the Disks utility and set it to Automatic Mount Options
"On" and reboot.

To me, it seems like this should work, but it doesn't.
