[Bug 512196] Re: "Show rhythmbox" an "Quit rhythmbox" are too close together in the indicator menu

2014-04-20 Thread Walter Garcia-Fontes
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make
Ubuntu better. We are sorry that we do not always have the capacity to
look at all reported bugs in a timely manner. There have been many
changes in Ubuntu since that time you reported the bug and your problem
may have been fixed with some of the updates. It would help us a lot if
you could test it on a currently supported Ubuntu version. When you test
it and it is still an issue, kindly upload the updated logs by running
apport-collect and any other logs that are relevant for this
particular issue.

2014-04-20 Thread K.Mani

2014-04-20 Thread Steve Langasek
Cryptsetup was never installed by default in Ubuntu; it was only
installed if you selected encryption in the installer. however, you say
this was an upgrade, and it also should not have been removed on
upgrade. Please attach your upgrade logs from /var/log/apt/dist-upgrade.

[Bug 1296275] Re: PTP Cameras not working on 14.04, works flawlessly on 12.04

2014-04-20 Thread Bernard Decock
Also a problem with Canon Powershot SX20 IS (Ubuntu 14.04 and Xubuntu
14.04).

I'm getting an error : Could not claim USB Device (-53).

Indeed, as suggested by Thomas Rosted, gphoto2 --get-all-files
downsloads all the images. (But this is not a workable option for photo-
management)

[Bug 1310198] [NEW] Open file dialog network navigation doesn't work

2014-04-20 Thread Otus
Public bug reported:

>From an open file dialog I can open "browse network" from the list and
see computers on my network. However, trying to open a network share
doesn't work: there's a message about the file not being a directory.

Expected: Either the network shares are listed and can be opened from
the file dialog, or the browse network option shouldn't be shown.

Both gtk2 and gtk3 applications seem to be affected. I'm not sure which
component the bug might be due to.

[Bug 1277641] Re: German keyboard layout loses tilde dead key

2014-04-20 Thread Ulf Mehlig
I understand that people who do not write texts with "ã", "ñ" etc.
rather like to type "~" directly, e.g., in path names or LaTeX source.
However, transferring the "~" dead key to a "legacy" keyboard layout
(14.04 release) gives the impression that the option to use "~" as an
accent will be removed completely in the future -- and that should not
happen! It can be a *huge* advantage to be able to type texts in
different languages with accents/diacritical letters (e.g., German +
Portuguese) with the same keyboard layout.

[Bug 1309918] Re: Upgrading Ubuntu 12.04 to 14.04 leads to broken logins

2014-04-20 Thread Philipp Bohn
Hello,

there is nothing to find in the dash, but the folders and files still
exist and i can find them in the console. But that is not the Problem.
The Problem is to login as one of the users. Of course, I don't want
other users to login to my local account (administrator) to use their
files (documents and so on). This would propably not even be possible in
any simple way if I had the home folders encrypted on that computer.

1st: I'd expect all accounts to still exist after upgrading.
2nd: If I have to manually create "new" accounts, which than use the old home
folders, I'd exspect the OS to let the user login to their accounts and not
preventing the user from using the system at all.

I guess my expectation is of common sense? :-)

Regards,
Philipp

[Bug 1251281] Re: gnome-flashback (metacity) fails to start without hardware acceleration, cloud/remote environments (Forwarded-X/XRDP/VNC/NX/X2GO/Chromoting)

2014-04-20 Thread Eugene San
Testing showed that disabling GL enforcement is not enough.
Seems like gnome-session-3.9.99 suffers from severe stability issues, it
crashes frequently with GL enforcement disabled.
I've prepared back-ported from gnome 3.12 package:
https://launchpad.net/~eugenesan/+archive/ppa/+sourcepub/4095467/+listing-archive-extra
It contains a fix for GL enforcement (100_kill_gl_enforcement.patch) and
upstream fixes, combined they solve the problem.

I hope package maintainers will find a way to "extract" the fix from the
package above or import it to official repos.

[Bug 1062204] Re: Move to Trash contect menu item does not move files to trash

2014-04-20 Thread Neptilo
I can confirm this bug is still there in Ubuntu 14.04, with Rhythmbox
3.0.2.

@Caio Alonso You are right, Nautilus does not allow to move a file to
the trash from another partition. But it is hard to believe that this
behavior in Rhythmbox is intentional. (It's just that they didn't think
about that.) To the end user it will only be perceived as a bug, which
is moreover very unconvenient as the user has to manually delete the
file from Nautilus (or in command line). Plus, when trying to move a
file to trash in Nautilus, it asks you if you want to delete it
immediately, so your intention to remove the file is finally achieved.

Rhythmbox should at least give the option to remove a file immediately,
just like Nautilus.

[Bug 221112] Re: Can't use space bar in search bar when using french alternative keyboard

2014-04-20 Thread Creak
I'm French and I think left and right control keys should behave the
same as in every other normal french layouts.

Here is a survey for those in here that want to give their opinion:
http://doodle.com/i3f5vpiaqk37ebms

I agree with Remi, I understand we want to follow the ISO standard, but
if the standard isn't appreciated by most of the users, we should create
a new "oss-iso" layout.

[Bug 1246272] Re: Keyboard layout changing randomly in 13.10 (saucy)

2014-04-20 Thread Craig Wood
I can confirm this issue is also in 14.04 as reported in #17 by

I have only 1 keyboard installed - English (UK) - but after every reboot, it
seems to default to a US keyboard.
Clicking on the indicator in the menu bar switches to the correct (UK) input.

Like Ralf, I also only need one keyboard layout.

[Bug 1310390] [NEW] nautilus showing hidden files by default, does not retain view setting

2014-04-20 Thread Eric Ongerth
Public bug reported:

Summary:
Since 14.04, the nautilus file manager is always showing hidden items when I
open it. The setting can be changed, but reverts when I close the app so the
next time I use it it again defaults to showing hidden items.

Expected behavior: nautilus defaults to not showing hidden files and
folders. User can press Ctrl-H or use View > Show Hidden Files to
toggle the setting. And the new setting persists when nautilus is
closed and later re-launched (or in future sessions).

Current behavior: nautilus defaults to SHOWING hidden files and folders.
The setting can be toggled as expected. The setting does not persist
after the window is closed.

This is occurring both on the system I reported it from (an upgrade from
13.10 to 14.04) and on another system with a fresh install of 14.04.

[Bug 1278863] Re: package gnome-settings-daemon-schemas (not installed) failed to install/upgrade: tentative de remplacement de « /usr/share/GConf/gsettings/gnome-settings-daemon.convert », qui appart

2014-04-20 Thread Braiam Peguero
This error is produced because before the installation you didn't
removed the gnome ppa along with the packages. This is evident since
those package gnome-settings-daemon 3.10.2-0ubuntu1~saucy6 is not
present in saucy repositories, but in gnome PPA's. You can try removing
one by one using dpkg all those packages ending in saucy, remove all the
PPA repositories and use aptitude remove '?version(*saucy*)' if you have
it installed, or reinstall your system.
