Bug#562216: Blender crashes my computer when I slide a cursor

2010-01-03 Thread OC

Hello,

I tried to do what was asked but I am not sure if I did it right.
I did this :

* git clone git://git.debian.org/git/pkg-xorg/lib/mesa
* ./configure --with-dri-drivers=swrast,i810,i915,i965
* make
* sudo make install

However I don't really know which version I compiled... The last line of
"git tag" is : mesa-7.7-rc2-1 but "git branch" is "* debian-unstable".

Did I compile Mesa 7.6.1 or Mesa 7.7 ? How can I know ? How can I choose ?

FWIW, I still got the system crash after "make install" (sliding a
cursor in blender causes a Xorg/screen/keyboard crash)

Bug#562216: Blender crashes my computer when I slide a cursor

2010-01-03 Thread OC

Thanks for the help.
Now I have : git describe -> mesa-7.7-rc2-1-108-g36461f0

After compilation, I did :
* cd lib/
* export LD_LIBRARY_PATH=${PWD}
* export LIBGL_DRIVERS_PATH=${PWD}
* export LIBGL_DEBUG=verbose

Problems :

* When running ~/mesa/progs/demos/gears, no window appears and I get :

--

* When running ~/mesa/progs/xdemos/glxgears : I see the gears turning
but also :

* When running ~/mesa/progs/xdemos/glxinfo, I get the same errors as
above and I further notice among other things :

--
direct rendering: No
client glx version string: 1.4
GLX version: 1.2
OpenGL renderer string: Mesa DRI Intel(R) 945GM GEM 20090712 2009Q2 RC3

OpenGL version string: 1.4 Mesa 7.6
--

BTW : is the last line normal since I compiled mesa-7.7-rc2 ?
and the program stops with this error :

--
*** glibc detected *** /home/oc/mesa/progs/xdemos/glxinfo: corrupted
double-linked list: 0x08296bf8 ***

I am sorry to say that I can not locate the problem...

Just a last thing : with the standard packages of my Debian testing, the
program glxinfo tells "direct rendering: Yes".

Bug#562216: Pasting from console crashes Icedove

2010-01-17 Thread OC

Hello,

pasting standard text from a xterm console into a "compose" window
crashes Icedove application. It happened 10 times this evening while
composing mails, so I decided to voice it out because it is extremely
painful.

Best regards,

Bug#562216: Pasting from console crashes Icedove

2010-01-21 Thread OC

And you decided to say this in an unrelated bug report because?

sorry for that mistake... copy/paste error...

My message was an answer to 539...@bugs.debian.org and it had nothing to
do here.

Bug#562216: Blender crashes my computer when I slide a cursor

2010-03-04 Thread OC

Hello,

Still no chance with mesa 7.7-4 from unstable ?
Are you using latest X packages and 2.6.32 kernel ?

after your suggestion, I did:
apt-get install libglu1-mesa libgl1-mesa-dri -t unstable
and rebooted. Now blender does not crash when I slide a cursor. The
crash problem seems to be solved !

(I am using xserver-xorg version: 1:7.5+3, xserver-xorg-video-intel
version 2:2.9.1-2 and linux-image-2.6.32-trunk-686)

Thank you.

Bug#568868: Vanishing xset setting

2010-03-13 Thread OC

Hello,

I have the same bug.

I use a "ctrl" key as a convenient "Delete" next to the arrow keys. I
set the autorepeat with "xset r 105". The autorepeat stops working after
some time, and on every suspend/resume. This did not happen previously.

I currently have xserver-xorg-core version 2:1.7.5-1

Bug#458916: text becomes unreadable during lenny installation

2008-03-15 Thread oc-spam65
Hello,

I just want to say that I experienced the same bug when installing a lenny last
weekend on my laptop (network install).

Installing an etch the same way is OK. My graphic card is a Intel GM945.

The screen looks the same as the pictures sent by Rémi. The consoles are still
active, only the screen is unreadable.

The problem also happens near the end of the installation (in the preceding
sequences of the installation, I had no problem to choose the type of
installation (graphic things, laptop mode) and give root and user passwords).
Contrary to Rémi, I was not able to finish the installation because I didn't
want to press "enter" blindly (I want to preserve another partition...)

Sorry if this e-mail is inappropriate... I don't manage to easily find if this
bug report is still open and where the information should be sent.

Regards,

O.C.
