Bug#1017499: mesa: Updates to 22.2 RCs cause artifacts on nouveau and blank screen on VirtIO

2022-08-20 Thread Leandro Cunha
Hi.

Had the same problem with me and I don't see a good idea to send
release candidate versions to sid/testing but to experimental. There
are a lot of people who use sid/testing on a daily basis.
With the graphics card NVidia GT310 using the Nouveau.
But it was good to catch the problem before launch.

Bug#1017499: mesa: Updates to 22.2 RCs cause artifacts on nouveau and blank screen on VirtIO

2022-09-15 Thread Leandro Cunha
Hi,

Yes, I reported it to upstream and it's an issue that went undetected
until I take action like this. And the upload (I don't know if it was
accidental) to an unstable version of rc (release candidate) helped to
discover that there were issues that needed attention. Thanks to Karol
who took the necessary attention to solve the problem. And fixed
upstream and upstream tags are already added. Upload only for pending
fix now. I have no information if a new version of rc has been
released.

Bug#1065666: mesa: Upgrading to mesa from testing breaks compiz

2025-06-06 Thread Leandro Cunha
Hi,

I've been looking at an issue involving python2 that hasn't been
resolved yet, upstream has practically given up on the project itself,
and many people have already lost interest in Compiz, including
Fedora, which distributed Mate with it. Is it still worth it to be an
RC bug? I'm a Mate user and have no interest in Compiz. I wasn't even
aware of this problem with Mesa, but I remember using it back in the
day, about 8 to 10 years ago.

I could try compiz and come back here to give my feedback.
I'm sending from my cell phone now I'm going to turn on my machine and try
using it.
