Bug#561008: console-setup: approximations for 'toilet -f future' symbols look different before and after X

I tried with video=640x480 and it works: it actually sets the framebuffer resolution to 640x480. After some test, I found that video=720x400 is nicer (it's the resolution I get on the GRUB menu, by default). But it's also OK to have the framebuffer console running at the LCD optimal resolution (that is to say: no special kernel parameter). Anyway, what's not too nice is the fact that the screen is briefly blanked during the boot sequence, and the resolution changes during the boot sequence (when the KMS kicks in). Is there a way to avoid this blanking (while keeping the framebuffer console, without disabling kernel mode setting)? Maybe there's a way to obtain a given resolution for the GRUB menu and then keep it unchanged up to the end of the boot sequence... Would this avoid the brief screen blanking? -- http://www.inventati.org/frx/progs/scripts/pdebuild-hooks.html Need some pdebuild hook scripts? . Francesco Poli . Bug#579152: xserver-xorg: server crashes when closing apps that use the GLX 1.3 API
Package: xserver-xorg Version: 1:7.5+5 Severity: important Hi, When closing applications that make use of the GLX 1.3, the X server crashes. It's not 100% reproducible but happens most of the time and easily reproducible, e.g. install libclutter-1.0-0 1.2 from experimental and open and close a clutter application, e.g. gnometris from gnome-games. I'm waiting for a fix for this issue before I upload clutter 1.2 to unstable, and since we want that version in Squeeze it would be great to get this fixed sooner rather than later. The upstream bug report is at http://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=26394 and has some patches, also note this pointed to me by Cyril: http://lists.debian.org/debian-x/2010/04/msg00931.html Cheers, Emilio -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-x-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of "unsubscribe". Yes it helps thanks :) With that kernel the driver works too good I never experienced a similar stability with that laptop on GNU\Linux. Anyway that bug is also present on 2.6.33* kernel. So the problem is present only on kernels != 2.6.32-4*
