I have just noticed it. May this issue > > be related to XFree86?>> I'm assuming that this is using the amd64 kernel with a i386> userland?ia32 builds of Xorg use vm86 for real-mode BIOS calls. 64-bit kernelsdon't support the vm86 syscall, even with 32-bit userland. The Vesa driver requires the ability to make real-mode BIOS calls. This can neverwork. I'd suggest just closing this.Hi,IMHO, I would close this bug ticket too.The problem appeared to me because I installed the i386 userland, and then switched from the default kernel package to its amd64 flavor. Nevertheless, it could not happen with current testing and unstable repositories, as kernel-image-*-amd64-* packages are no more available in the i386 port of Debian : the amd64 kernel are only found in the amd64 port repository*. Best Regards,David.* with the exception of Debian Stable, which provides a amd64 build of linux kernel in the i386 repository. I think it is way to late to change anything about it.

Note that when importing initially, some files were not even added to the SVN repository because SVN ignored them. These were configs/diffs~ and docs/RELNOTES-6.1~. About wiki.debian.org/Compiz
Hi there,I had build a small introduction in Debian Wiki about Compiz and how to set it up with GNOME. I had success with Compiz in my computer, wich is using Intel graphic driver (i810), but I think there are missing information about Compiz using NVIDIA and ATI drivers. So if you already had experiences with NVIDIA/ATI and Compiz please, help to complete the documentation. Thanks,Matheus Morais

Adding Option "PanelSize" "1680x1050" Option "MonitorLayout" "TMDS,NONE" made the display work correctly. IIRC this was needed with XOrg 6.9, but wasn't needed with 7.0 (because it was intelligent enough to autodetect correctly?). This seems to be a regression in 7.1. Both the PanelSize and MonitorLayout need to be exactly as above. If either is commented out, or I change MonitorLayout to just "TMDS", the monitor powers off. Just in case it's affecting anything, I'm adding append="video=radeonfb:[EMAIL PROTECTED]" in my yaboot.conf in order to get a fullscreen framebuffer. Regards, Roger -- .''`.
