Bug#334798: screen position
I'm more convinced than ever that this is a blackbox bug. When the window shifts itself to the center row, the position which blackbox indicates for the window is: 2147483647 aka INT32_MAX. Not only that, moving by one pixel changes the X position to 2147483647. The Y position is never really visible, since the X position takes up so much space .. but it appears to work as expected; 0 at the top of the screen and 700 at the bottom. Still can't fathom why it only happens with firefox, though. -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe". Trouble? Contact [EMAIL PROTECTED]

Yeah, I didn't realize that it was a builtin until late last night. The replacement should be in all the lib debian/rules files, although svn may have crapped out on me in the middle of the massive commit. I'll check on that too. Bug#338047: xlibmesa-dri in experimental is missing Savage 3D driver, savage_dri.so
Package: xlibmesa-dri Severity: important I found out that savage_dri.so from Mesa 6.4 is bundled with X.org 6.8.99.901 (6.9RC1), but that file is nowhere to be found in xlibmesa-dri package in Debian Experimental. (Also, savage_dri.so is Unstables X.org 6.8.2, probably backported from HEAD at some point but that doesn't work at all. It creates /dev/dri/card0 , but Xorg.0.log is silent on DRI , "LIBGL_DEBUG=verbose glxinfo" is silent too, and it should be if no DRI driver claims active screen.) This report is probably invalid, if Debian X Strike Force ain't going to package monolithic tree anymore and should be ignored. Better luck with modular! :) -- System Information: Debian Release: 3.1 Architecture: i386 (i686) Kernel: Linux 2.4.27 Locale: LANG=en_US, LC_CTYPE=en_US (charmap=ISO-8859-1) -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe". Bug#338081: xserver-common: Promote xfonts-base from suggests to recommends
Package: xserver-common Version: 6.8.2.dfsg.1-7 Severity: wishlist It would be really great if xfonts-base were promoted from a suggests of xserver-common to a recommends. I realize this is certainly a debatable issue, but I filed this wishlist bug to present my rationale under the assumption that it could be marked wontfix if there is are compelling reasons not to do so. Given that the X server will not start without access to the fonts provided by xfonts-base (either locally or remotely), it seems to fit the policy definition of a "strong dependency". I believe it would also be a benefit to our users, given that they could naively install xserver-xorg (using a tool that automatically includes recommends) and have a working X server after the install completes. Although the package is not required on setups where the fonts are externally available, the only detriment to installing this package automatically would be wasted filesystem space, as opposed to a non-functional X. I contend that it is better to err on the side of filesystem cruft than ease of use.
