XFree86 4.3 DRM Linux kernel module source snapshot
This package contains a source archive for Linux kernel direct rendering
modules (DRM), which are the kernel side of DRI. DRI is the Direct Rendering
Infrastructure, a framework for allowing direct access to graphics hardware
in a safe and efficient manner. The source code in this package enables the
compilation of kernel-side direct rendering modules which correspond to the
 DRI implementation in XFree86 4.3.

This package is only required for 2.4-series kernels; the necessary support
is already included in 2.6-series kernels.

Oh, I guess you are right...my bad...but it does build fine without 017. I
thought that depend:: meant it was adding to the existing rule. I confused
the other depend:: rules. I thought they would take the place of
the empty depend::.

As I recall, it wasn't ever a matter of the build failing without 017.
It was a matter of the build failing in certain configurations.

Ah, yes, here we go. It was numbered #041 in the trunk. (This is why
we should not renumber patches gratuitously.)

  * patch #041: new; patch from ISHIKAWA Mutsumi to fix missing depend
target in Xlib's Imakefile if "BuildServersOnly" is YES,
"BuildXnestServer" is NO, and "BuildGLXLibrary" is NO.

Please pay closer attention before advocating the removal of a patch.

I'll update the patch header to explain the purpose of this patch in the
trunk and branches/4.3.0/sid.

updated Debian patch to xc/programs/xdm/session.c

2003-09-25 Thread Branden Robinson
Hi Matthieu,

I've further improved the pam_setcred() patch to use PAM's own error
reporting function (and made the C style consistent to boot).

I did also remove that %\"s format string and replace it with ordinary
%s. The \" qualifier is not documented in any manpage or the GNU info
documentation for glibc, which gives me serious doubts as to its
portability.

I have MIME-attached the updated session.c patch against xf-4_3-branch.

I will try 0pre1v2 first, then install the debugging server for that
version if I can still get it to crash.

Do I need to ulimit -c unlimited before i startx if I want to obtain a
coredump?

I put a new #063 patch (063_fix_weak_deps.diff) on the URL bellow:

 http://people.debian.org/~ishikawa/XFree86/063_fix_weak_deps.diff

update:

 * add define SharedXvReqs in xc/config/cf/lnxLib.tmpl
 * add MathLibrary on SharedDPSTKReqs define in
   xc/config/cf/lnxLib.tmpl
 * add MathLibrary on REQUIREDLIBS in
   xc/lib/GL/mesa/src/OSmesa/Imakefile

cleanup:
 * replace $(EXTENSIONLIB) $(XONLYLIB) to $(XLIB)

Anyone can test this update? I do not have enough time to
test it before this weekend.

X Strike Force SVN commit: rev 583 - in trunk/debian: . patches

Modified:
   trunk/debian/changelog
   trunk/debian/patches/000_stolen_from_HEAD.diff
   trunk/debian/patches/002_xdm_fixes.diff
Log:
SECURITY: Fix for CAN-2003-0690; xdm did not verify the return value of
the pam_setcred() function, which could allow attackers to gain root
privileges by triggering error conditions within PAM modules, as
demonstrated in certain configurations of the MIT pam_krb5 module.
Fix backported from XFree86 CVS xf-4_3-branch: xdm now checks the return
value of pam_setcred(), issues an error message if it is not zero, and
treats this situation as an authentication failure.

- debian/patches/000_stolen_from_HEAD.diff: added patch
- debian/patches/002_xdm_fixes.diff: resynced offsets; update
pam_setcred() patch to use pam_error and pam_strerror() when reporting
  problems

Do I need to ulimit -c unlimited before i startx if I want to obtain a
coredump?

 libm is needed.

I put a new #063 patch (063_fix_weak_deps.diff) on the URL bellow:

 http://people.debian.org/~ishikawa/XFree86/063_fix_weak_deps.diff

update:

 * add define SharedXvReqs in xc/config/cf/lnxLib.tmpl
 * add MathLibrary on SharedDPSTKReqs define in
   xc/config/cf/lnxLib.tmpl
 * add MathLibrary on REQUIREDLIBS in
   xc/lib/GL/mesa/src/OSmesa/Imakefile

cleanup:
 * replace $(EXTENSIONLIB) $(XONLYLIB) to $(XLIB)

Anyone can test this update? I do not have enough time to
test it before this weekend.
