About cdimage, I have asked in #debian-cd about it. Will keep it for now. Best regards -- Laura Arjona Reina https://wiki.debian.org/LauraArjona

Cool. So... Laura and I were talking on IRC yesterday. I've been swamped with a range of family things that removed my "free" time over the last few months, so I've been unable to really help much so far. Laura has been talking about running a sprint to work on the migration. I think that sounds like a splendid idea, but I can't really travel much at the moment. However, I'm thinking of taking some vacation (a week or so) from my day job during May to get stuck in here. When are other people available? What can I help with? I'm OK-ish in perl, so I'm thinking of looking at the translation workflow stuff, unless that's already in hand. Is https://wiki.debian.org/WebsiteGitTransition still the canonical place to track the planning? -- Steve McIntyre, Cambridge, UK.st...@einval.com "I suspect most samba developers are already technically insane... I cannot travel much at this moment either but if we decide 2-3 days to do a "distributed" or "remote" sprint I would do my best to be more available (remotely) for website work in those days. > What can I help with? I would propose to work in this repo: https://salsa.debian.org/webmaster-team/webwml/test_webwml_cvs2git and when we have ready the new scripts or adapted the current ones, we can make patches of those commits and apply them in the CVS webwml repo, and then when we run again the cvs2git script for the final migration, the resultant repo will contain the good scripts. Is > https://wiki.debian.org/WebsiteGitTransition still the canonical place > to track the planning? > I have just reviewed and updated it with the current status of things. So as for today, I think that reading the wiki page (alone) should give an idea of what has been done, the remaining work, and the other ideas/approaches that we could try. PowerPC-Section of Documentation - Some links are outdated
Dear Debian www-Team, I am currently thinking about joining the PowerProgress-Community who are currently working on the design of a PowerPC-Notebook and bought an old Mac G5 recently which arrived today. To start gathering information on this non-X86-architecture I found the PowerPC-section of the documentation quite useful. https://www.debian.org/ports/powerpc/docu Unfortunately some of the links are broken such as (I haven't tested all of them) http://www.mot.com/PowerPC/ http://www.macosrumors.com/ https://www.hrz.uni-wuppertal.de/zugang/netzanschluss/isdn4l/linux_isdn-2.html http://www.mklinux.apple.com/ http://www.dartmouth.edu/cgi-bin/cgiwrap/jonh/lppc/faq.pl Also the German version of https://www.debian.org/ports/powerpc/inst/pmac should be updated. What steps would I have to take to contribute to PPC-documentation? Have a good day, Maik --- email: maikwag...@o2online.de www: http://www.maikwagner.de

FYI, the Debian powerpc architecture is no longer an officially supported release architecture. I'd suggest you and other Debian users from the PowerProgress-Community get involved with the Debian porting efforts if you would like the unofficial Debian powerpc architecture to stick around. ircs://irc.oftc.net/debianppc https://lists.debian.org/debian-powerpc/ https://www.debian.org/ports/powerpc/ https://wiki.debian.org/PowerPC ircs://irc.oftc.net/debian-ports https://www.ports.debian.org/ > What steps would I have to take to contribute to PPC-documentation? Our documentation for how the Debian website works is available here: https://www.debian.org/devel/website/ If you don't want to interact with CVS, the source files are available here: https://anonscm.debian.org/viewvc/webwml/webwml/english/ports/powerpc/ You can send patches as bug reports against the www.debian.org pseudo-package. https://www.debian.org/Bugs/Reporting Please note that anonscm.d.o will be going away soon and we are working on a transition to using git for the website. https://wiki.debian.org/WebsiteGitTransition > Also the German version of Information about helping with German translations is available here: https://www.debian.org/international/German/ -- bye, pabs https://wiki.debian.org/PaulWise
