FYI: I smell this "message removal request" is a way for the poster to
get more URL linking from our site. I have no hard evidence. The
initial message of this guy is blatent sales of his web service to
apache ML. (I will not repeat it here but sent this info to listmaster
address). I suspect this message may be as a part of SPAM. At least
removing URL in message for this type of SPAM may be better than
removing everything. Otherwise, we will be used to boost their web site
link points for the search engine.

Bug#678232: Support IPv6 dual-stack access for Debian's websites

lists's record probably just got lost when moving to a new machine
a while back. Fixed.

www.debian.org is different depending on where in the world you are.

For clients in North America it used to be two webservers, one at
UBC-ECE in Vancouver, and one at MIT in Cambridge, MA. Only UBC-ECE has
IPv6 but the webserver there died.

When we set up a new one clients in North America should get
records for www.debian.org again - all other regions already have that.

Cheers,

Bug#678348: [www.debian.org] Debian “wheezy” Release Information: Outdated advice for pre-squeeze testing users

2012-06-20 Thread Filipus Klutiero

Package: www.debian.org
Severity: normal

http://www.debian.org/releases/testing/index.en.html contains:

Please note that security updates for "testing" distribution are *not*
yet managed by the security team. Hence, "testing" does *not* get
security updates in a timely manner. You are encouraged to switch your
sources.list entries from testing to squeeze for the time being if you
need security support. See also the entry in the Security Team's FAQ
 for the "testing"
distribution.

The first sentence may be true, but the rest is badly outdated. People
with testing in their sources.list now most likely run a post-squeeze
testing, and following that advice would only decrease their security.
