Head's up: Debian Policy 3.9.3 release planned for 2012-02-22

2012-02-14 Thread Russ Allbery
Hello folks,

I wanted to give you all advance warning that I'm planning a Debian Policy
upload of 3.9.3 on 2012-02-22. There are quite a few accumulated fixes
and changes and it's been a long time since we've done a release.

debian-www folks, this release will include version 1.0 of the DEP-5
copyright file spec along the lines previously discussed. I'll be
double-checking the build system, but I don't expect any changes from your
perspective (and will let you know if there are any). This release will
also remove the old MIME Policy document.

I still have on my to-do list to post another revision of the symbols
Policy change including some changes from Charles and some changes due to
my test of symbols with C++ libraries, but at this point the chances are
good that it will miss 3.9.3 and will be in 3.9.4.

I expect the main thrust of 3.9.4 development to be to incorporate Policy
for multiarch (and it may be 3.10.0 for that reason).

Bug#614233: www.debian.org: 614233: patch replacing Debian GNU/Linux where relevant

2012-02-14 Thread Paul Wise
tags 614233 + patch

thanks

The attached patch replaces Debian GNU/Linux with Debian where relevant
and makes other changes needed to fix #614233. I would like some review
here, especially on stuff that isn't strictly in the realm of the
website team.

I also changed "Debian developer" to "Debian member" where that
intersected with my patch, I can split that out from this patch if that
is wanted though.

Since 2007 is long over it would be a good idea to move the 2007

Hi,

Maybe I mentioned it before: the restructuring of submissions for the
website (CD vendors, pre-installed, users, consultants, etc.) might be a
good project for GSoC.

What do you think?

Kind regards,
Andrei
