Some docs on the website infrastructure / build system available?
Dear debian-www list, my name is Christian Neumair, and I've been an active GNOME contributor for some years now. Over in GNOME land, we are suffering from a website fragmentation problem: Each regional branch has its own website, mostly due to the lack of a unified i18n system. Of course, this is not very representative. Popular CMS systems like Plone seem to offer suboptimal i18n support, or none at all. On the other hand Debian seems to offer a fully internationalized website. Kudos to your www development team! :) I'm trying to evaluate whether it is possible to use some of your infrastructure for the GNOME website. However, I couldn't find any docs on the infrastructure, tools and licenses used to create the Debian website. Maybe you could give me some hints? Thanks in advance! Best regards, Christian Neumair -- Christian Neumair <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe". Trouble? Contact [EMAIL PROTECTED]

I'm always lost in GNOMEs list of domains and followed the discussion on the GNOME list. > On the other hand Debian seems to offer a fully internationalized > website. See http://www.debian.org/devel/website/desc for details. The main idea is simple (or even trivial). Just activate content negotiation in the web server and provide files containing the language code: desc..html such as desc.de.html. That's all! PS: I CC: you even though you did not request this. Hope this is OK. Jens -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe". Trouble? Contact [EMAIL PROTECTED]

help me!! there's someone who can explain to me how i can install MAXDB on DEBIAN? thank you stefano
Proper quotes in website including DSAs
Hi, I notice from time to time that still old quoting style using "..." is used on the Debian website. Especially Debian security anouncements are affected. Please use ... instead as this is handled by CSS and language dependent. I fixed this hopefully everywhere I spotted it. I do not remember but even nested quotes may be supported this way. Could you please take care of the webwml commit ? If the script is not convenient enough for you, I can try to automate a bit the task, but I think it needs instead to be included in your process of DSA releasing. Debian Wiki related "discussion".
Hello, Currently, many discussions related to DebianWiki itself[1] (structure, translation, conventions...) are happening in "Discussion" pages. I find it inappropriate for multiple reasons: - Wiki is most effective to collaboratively build (improve) a page, it's not the best to actually discuss it. - Wiki is not meant to preserve history. Keeping discussion/archives pages causes false positive hits when people search in the wiki. - Wiki is not meant to distribute updates (i.e sending email !) Therefore I would like to replace those discussion pages with some instruction to have such discussion on this mailing list. Do you have any comments / objections ?
