http://packages.debian.org/cgi-bin/download.pl?arch=all&file=pool%2Fmain%2Fl%2Flinuxcookbook%2Flinuxcookbook_1.2-1_all.deb&md5sum=d4b49cb723454bd347af6b9c2f87cf08&arch=all&type=main&dist=oldstable
 is ok but :

* http://packages.debian.org/oldstable/doc/linuxcookbook is not up to
date "Last Modified: Mon, 13 Feb 2006" so the fixed link is not
displayed.
Maybe rebuilds are done only for new package version ??

* The links to sources : dsc, orig.gz and diff.gz will have to be
addressed as well.

* General issue for all package pages : the &arch=$arch is send twice in
the download.pl url

How to force the rebuild of all pages ?

Problem downloading images with jigdo

2007-03-05 Thread David Eagleton
I have been trying to download the template and jigdo files for v31r5
from cdimage.debian.org and have not been able to completely download
any template file, they always die when I get 535K of the file downloaded.

I have used jigdo several times in the past and not had a problem
before. Have you changed something at your webserver? Do I have to do
something different to get these files now? Is there an Australian
mirror for the jigdo and template files?

Cheers,

David.

I can download
http://cdimage.debian.org/debian-cd/current/i386/jigdo-dvd/debian-31r5-i386-binary-1.template

and
http://cdimage.debian.org/debian-cd/current/i386/jigdo-cd/debian-31r5-i386-binary-1.template
without any problem. Please try a different program to download the
files (I used wget).
What file exactly fails for you?

There are also debian-update-* files available which are smaller. Maybe
you can use these?

Sorry, I do not know any mirror. I cc:ed debian-cd which is the right
list for this kind of questions.

[PATCH] make multi-arch CD/DVD images more visible

2007-03-05 Thread Robert Millan

See attached patch (and screenshot).

I think this is very necessary given how much confusion has been introduced by
amd64 and the intel-mac transition. Users could:

1- Confuse ia64 with amd64 (I've seen that happen, and not precisely with
 novice users).
2- Ignore wether their PC supports 64-bit mode (and in the latter case,
 see #1).
3- Ignore wether their Mac is powerpc-based or x86-based (and in the
 latter case, see #2)

As this page is "owned" and maintained by the d-i project, this mail
should have gone to the debian-boot list and not d-cd or d-www.
Moving the mail there for proper discussion.

This seems reasonable, although it's wishful thinking that this will
prevent people from downloading the right image. Indeed, the multiarch
netinst linked to above is not the right image for a lot of people..

Sorry about that.

Also, I forgot to mention that although I'm proposing the change in d-i
development page, my primary concern would be www.d.o/CD/ (which presumably
will just follow on what we decide here).
