improving the debian developers map

2003-10-10 Thread Xavier de Blas
Hello,

sorry first if i don't write to the correct place

i made a users map (http://www.deporteyciencia.com/mapa_usuarios1.pl) of
my internet site (http://www.deporteyciencia.com), and i think it could
be good for debian developers map
(http://www.debian.org/devel/developers.loc). My map has colors for the
number of users in each place.

My application it's based on slash (http://www.slashcode.com) and it's
coded a little bit bad, because it was one of my first perl apps.

If you're interested i can code it better, translate, automatize a bit,
and lose the slash dependency

Of course the application it's GPL, you can find it here:
http://savannah.nongnu.org/projects/pam/
http://savannah.nongnu.org/cgi-bin/viewcvs/pam/pam/

I hope you like

CURRENT-ISSUE-IS was not updated for last DWN (40/2003)

2003-10-10 Thread Frédéric Bothamy
Hello,

I think that the file webwml/english/News/weekly/CURRENT-ISSUE-IS in the
Debian webwml repository was not updated to reflect the latest DWN
(40/2003). As a consequence, the page http://www.debian.org/News/weekly/
still lists the DWN 39/2003 as current issue.

Greetings

Fred

Please forget this request, Joey has already updated the file in the

Searching for 'mod-perl' on http://www.debian.org/distrib/packages
results in 0 entries. Subword appears to only work for the beginning
of package names.

example: Searching for 'mod-perl' returns 0 entries,
searching for 'libapache-mod' returns the entry 'libapache-mod-perl'.

For example, search for "office", then for "siagoffice" in package
names.

Another example, strings like "patch" appear to match all packages
whose name *starts* with "patch", but fails to find all
"kernel-patch-*", which the "kernel-patch" string finds easily.

Is there a "^" lurking somewhere ?

It would be nice if the substring seach option on the "Seach package
directories" actually did substring searches. That would mean if I
seach for "base64" then "libmime-base64-perl" should be returned.
I realize the comments right on the page indicate that this doesn't
happen, so its not a bug.. so could this go on the wishlist?

Package: www.debian.org

Packages.debian.org does not search on subwords in package names, even
when this is selected. Searching for all packages which names contain
'screen' as a subword only yields the package 'screen':

http://packages.debian.org/cgi-bin/search_packages.pl?keywords=screen&searchon=names&subword=1&version=stable&release=all

but should also show packages such as 'xscreensaver'.

Where is the source for the search script available? I might write a
patch for it myself.

Family history of Joseph Parr and Jane Kennedy, married 1832,

The URL SHOULD be:

Family history of Joseph Parr and Jane Kennedy, married 1832,

The ProudParr NEEDS to be capped where shown in order to work properly.
