Hello. I've got problem with some translations. #: ../../english/News/press/press.tags:11 msgid "p" msgstr "" I know that can't be changed but what about this "p"? Is that abbreviation for word "page" ? These are my speculations after reading files other..po ;) Oh, and there is in Portuguese file: msgid "p" msgstr "p". I don't know if it is important and to be quite frank I don't even know if it is a bug ;) And second question. File "ports.pot" #: ../../english/ports/menu.defs:63 msgid "Supply" msgstr "" Can someone tell me where can I find this word on Debian pages? If you're going to use top-bit-set characters at all, it's the only sane encoding. We just need dpkg and apt to recode on output. He went on to point out that the Maintainer: in changelog and control needs to match, and control contains the description so it makes sense for it to be in the same encoding. I have some scripts running on www-master which perform cvs operations (e.g. diff or log) directly under /org/www.debian.org/webwml, and they now return an authentication error. Is there any solution, or do I have to perform my own checkout? Denis

Well, let me just express my utter lack of interest in putting anything other than ASCII into email fields like Maintainer -- so much mojibake during the transition period, for not much gain. In fact I realized that only a small part of webwml/ is mandatory for these scripts, so having my own checkout should not waste too much disk space. Denis
